Have you been watching the last two years of Gator football?? We have had highly ranked, highly mobile, strong armed quarterbacks who can't read defense and are highly inaccurate. And you want to pay another one right out of high school $1,000,000 a year to come here and do the same??? What... are AR and DJ next year going to take turns taking off running or dumping passes of into the grass or launching it into the BAND?? Can anyone say... Quarterback Controversy???

Funny thing is that we actually have a few former QB's in the league or were in it recently. The QB spot for UF the last 12 years or so is a lot like the offensive line positions, we've had linemen go on a be successful in the NFL but didnt show much while at UF. for what ever reason they don't showout til they move on.

I think Kitna will be starter before long I do not think AR is the right fit. He leaves a lot of plays on the feild I just don’t think he processes quickly enough lacks pre-post snap reads and as soon as he gets one good hit he is hurt and he mentally checks out

What’s that saying about everybody’s favorite player is the back up QB? Remember how last year we couldnt figure out why AR wasn’t starting?

FYI, DJ is a class of '24 recruit, which virtually eliminates the possibility of him and AR taking turns doing much of anything, good or bad. Hence, the "QB controversy" you allude to seems a bit silly at best and frankly comes across as either being ignorant of the basic facts of his recruitment, or just a straight-up troll job. And FTR, the assertion that DJ "can't read defenses" or is "highly inaccurate" is easily dispelled by even a cursory look at his jr. season stats and updated hudl highlights. Can anyone say do some homework?

It does seem we may not be giving the up front money that others are. That may hurt with some kids but I do believe getting the right personalities is just as important as talent. I can’t blame kids that are being overpaid but a lot of those kids will be like Cox. I like the class we have so far. We need a few more but so far so good.

yep and i see it this way; IF AR is still at UF in 2024 then he def didnt pan out and prolly wouldn’t be worth having as the starter imo.

Coaches tend to be right more often than fans. I’m sure coaches aren’t usually trying to get fired by hiding their best players on the bench.

There’s a better chance of our 3*freshman blowing up next year and Lageay transferring out because he doesn’t want to sit for 2-3 years.

we’ll see. Hopefully we get Lagway. Clemson pushing hard but shoot they got their future at QB in Clubnick who’s about to push DJ out the door as the season goes on and already has a 2023 commit in Chris Vizzina so if Lagway wants to go there…god speed.

Now at A&M, they’re starting true freshman Weigman and are looking for a 2023 QB but if they dont get one, the home state kid in Lagway is who they’ll go all in for (they are doing that now anyways)

I want to believe Lagway is smarter than going to play for Jimbo.

Now if he actually gets canned and theyre still throwing money at people…..

With respects to the QB’s we have on the roster and Stokes, if im Lagway, im frothing at the mouth at our depth chart regardless of whoever is the QB in 2023 and regardless of how they perform

I think the ever last week of recruiting when he was already committed to us Bama offered him and he immediately went up to 3* star... Not even joking.

I whole heartily agree. Dude could legit start day 1 based on our depth chart, or at minimum earn it by end of freshman year. And when we have a good O line/RB house next year, combined with all the WR we are taking…I mean…cmon

Agree. Buy using the high four and five stars that transferred from Georgia and the walk-on that led them to the promised land, and thinking about Kyle Trask being a two star, I believe it’s imperative that our lawyers have to make NIL deals contingent on success on the field, in the class room, and generally, or the NIL deal is dead. Seems obvious, but none of us yet know the fall out from an NIL deal made where a player doesn’t make the two deep. There will be some court cases nationally.
