My daughter cheers for UF. UF has a grounded policy that doesn't allow any elite stunting. If you watch any other SEC school cheerleaders, they are flying through the air doing elite stunts while our cheerleaders don't leave the ground and look like a JV squad. Maybe watching the Cheerleaders isn't part of your gameday experience, but this would be a huge thank you from me if you would sign the petition she created. She is a Jr and has only 1 year left. It would be huge for her and her teammates if they can add the same skills other SEC schools are allowed to do. Thank you all in advance who do sign the petition. This policy has been in place for what 20+ years after they misspotted a flyer and she bounced off her head when she fell Prior to that UF was consistently in the upper echelon of college teams wrt to competition results I agree free the cheerleaders
Yes, something to that affect. They still go in the air, which is inherently risky, just nothing remotely elite like they are capable of. Thank you and Yes, Free the cheerleaders!!!
Never knew that, I always thought it was because our cheerleaders were more conservative and didn't want someone's hands near their hoo hoo.
I have a neighbor who suffered an injury during her time as a UF cheerleader back in the Spurrier days as a player and still has back problems. I wonder if her incident led to the current policy or if there were other incidents?
