So you did the same thing. by your logic the cop should have given you a beat down then. According to your train of thought Karma is catching up to you and a great calamity is due. I for one won’t shed a tear if it does.
People who are happy this happened to him are soulless ghouls. Pretty sure that if hell were real they’ll be in it.

Also LOL at admitting you drove impaired With MAGA types the projection never stops

Are the Capital Police responsible for the security of the SOH’s residence in California? I have not seen that reported. I have seen it mentioned that Nancy, as SOH, has a security detail with her but since she wasn’t there neither were they.

I'll accept it when the body cam and home/other homes videos are shared. It's not a big ask.

Apparently the Capitol Police set up cameras at the Pelosi residence in San Francisco but no one was monitoring them in real time. I assume that's because the Speaker herself wasn't present.
Capitol Police cameras caught break-in at Pelosi home, but no one was watching
I suspect that after the attack on Paul Pelosi the Capitol Police will start providing the same level of protection to the immediate family of members of Congress that they provide to the members themselves much the same way that the Secret Service provides protection to members of the President's family. Since the Capitol Police probably do not have the resources to provide that level of protection for all 435 members of the House and all 100 senators the protection would most likely be limited to those House members and Senators in leadership positions and those that have received threats.

I agree. The sheer stupidity of fellow posters to believe the perpetrator and victim's own recounting as well as the accounts of the responding police and dispatcher, especially when they line up so well. I mean, what are the odds???

The perp's blogs and the evidence at the scene, which support the combined narratives, go to show you how insidious and well prepared the deep state is. It's frankly unbelievable how gullible the non-MAGA contingent can be. Why do I come to this site?

They may never admit it, but it's a safe bet some are disappointed the attack wasn't completed as the assailant intended (i.e. a dead or gravely wounded speaker Pelosi).

Yes I do, what does that have to do with anything. I smoke in my own house, I smoke in my own car. if I am in public I smoke in a designated smoking area, if I am in a parking lot or out in the open I step away from people. I don't throw my butts on the ground I put them out then put them in my pocket.......How do you equate that with driving drunk and possibly harming another person?

From people that knew Depape… he was the basic definition of vulnerable ignorant follower:

About six years ago, according to his most recent employer, Mr. DePape was down on his luck, living under a tree in a park and hanging around outside a lumber store in Berkeley, Calif., looking for work.

“You know how people sit outside and wait for someone to come and offer them work?” recalled Frank Ciccarelli, a carpenter who builds houses and makes furniture. “He was sitting there. So I picked him up. So he started working for me. And he really worked out well.”

For the next several years, Mr. Ciccarelli became close to Mr. DePape, even as he worked less and seemed to spend more time online, immersed in right-wing conspiracy theories — right up until a week ago, when he paid Mr. DePape his most recent wages.

His lawyer promised to mount a “vigorous defense” and signaled that one possible strategy could be to highlight his client’s “vulnerability” to the misinformation and conspiracy theories that have become so prominent in American political life.

Given the nature/profile of Nancy Pelosi’s position a Speaker …… I find it difficult to embrace the report the security system was not properly monitored. I just don’t think the Capital Police are that irresponsible.

The failure to detect DePape entering the Pelosi residence provides fertile ground for a conspiracy theory that this was a contrivance using a mentally I’ll perp/stooge …… that went terribly wrong.

Intriguing perspective leading to the question - who would have a motive to set DePape up?

Lol I must ask, are you the speaker of the house? Does the capital police actively monitor your house? Are you in line to be president of the United States? I have mentally unstable people made threats against your well-being?

nicotine is a hell of a drug and is more addictive than coke (which I had very little trouble quitting when it was time). You’re an addict.

Yea. It’s the security camera company’s fault Depape was radicalized by right wing nuts. Let’s put blame where it belongs. All the other noise is to distract from the assassination attempt by a right wing radicalized terrorist.

Well, I guess the same people who would mistakenly see a political attack on Nancy Pelosi as perhaps beneficial to Democrats, running in these midterm elections.

See post number 376. I believe we’ve already seen reports where some media and left-wing partisans have blamed Trumper‘s or radical right wing extremists for the attack (ie politicized the attack) on Mr. Pelosi. Further, there is at least an implication, if not a direct statement, that these people are dangerous and electing Republicans will give them more power and therefor more dangerous.

The Capitol Police weren't able to stop people from breaking into her office at the actual Capitol.

so the explanation for DePape getting into the Pelosi residence is …… the capital police are simply incompetent?

How could we expect the capital police to stop an attempt to overthrow the US government even when they had advance notice of the march that devolved into an uprising …… to keep one guy out of the Pelosi residence?

So much more to this story....NOT. Get out of here with the conspiracy stories. It's getting old and more and more frustrating that we have so many sheep that would believe it.

Just putting it out there keeps it alive.

I don't know enough to say whether it was incompetence, but I think security is tough. We've had presidents assassinated. We've had people walk up to and into the White House. We recently had a guy who may have gotten to a Supreme Court Justice's house but thankfully turned himself in. Who knows how bad that could have been. We had a Congressional leader shot at a baseball game. The list goes on and on. It does seem to me like it should have been a lot harder for this guy to break into the Pelosi residence, but I suppose it would have been secured differently if she had been home. I don't think the fact that he got in supports any of the conspiracy theories I've read about. Kind of an Occam's Razor sort of thing for me.
