Can’t read. Paywalled. But the bit I could read before pop up, even if true, which should never be presumed, doesn’t alter the facts of the jury verdict, which suggests that the police account in 2017 may not have stood up to examination under the rules of evidence in 2022, doesn’t justify the 2022 TRO against Mom.

Not sure why it's paywalled for you.

Article says gang member and felon on the run for 10 days for car thefts and drive by shootings. Didn't dig enough to verify the accounts that the subject yelled "shoot me " while he reached down. Only point I'm making is there is much more than what your link describes which paints one side of the story.

I'm not taking a stance on it because I rarely do without knowing a considerable amount of facts I'm just pointing out that the subject appears to be involved in a gang and some of the comments about the officer "getting his" could be inciting retribution from his crowd.

Again, all I'm saying is there appears to be a lot more to look at than one can gather from just one or two articles. No one should assume guilt is a two way street. I'd also add that an officer walking up to a gang member and felon on the run for purportedly violent crimes isn't and shouldn't walk up to the subject and treat them like every other person they stop. In a perfect world yes but that's not reality.

Here is another one. Again, maybe some prejudice involved maybe not. Looks like incompetence to me which again may or may not have been guided by overt or subconscious prejudice but either way I'm glad this guy is off the job.

But I’m focused on events in 2022, not 2017. His mother won her lawsuit, which, without knowing more, suggests it was strong evidence of improper police actions, given all the legal presumptions are entitled to. But the main thing I was focusing on with the TRO that the City got in response to our Facebook post. That was the main point I was making. None of what happened in 2017 is relevant to others she should have a TRO entered against her

Fed trial for San Jose police officer in 2017 shooting

This link covering the Civil trial was not paywalled. The one covering the verdict still is so I don't know what the outcome was but this link seems to say they were seeking damages based on the cop standing in the line of fire instead of taking cover which contributed to the shooting.

While I would agree that is the kind of stuff that needs to be scrutinized i.e... Tamir Rice....I'm not sure I agree with deeming this cops actions as nefarious even if technically "improper. "
