Seemed pretty obvious to me that the last coaching crew was operating in more of a negotiated settlement approach than stern leadership approach. I wonder how much of our lingering problems are due to this relationship between the players and the staff?

Frankly, if it is true I'd rather it be made public and anyone who does not want to toe the line should be shown the door.

Even if it means losing every single game from now until the situation changes.

Would you have that same attitude with the other coaches we have had here?

Simple we have seen plenty of coaches make what have been really questionable decisions, hell they are discussed here daily almost.

Other than some varied criticisms of Cox’s play (mainly being inconsistent), what issues have ever been rumored about him?
    Perhaps I missed them.

If being consistently inconsistent is ground for dismissal the majority of the defense should be gone.

Seems like Napier is trying to make a statement by tossing a guy mid season.

And one more thought years ago two UF players got into a fight at the team meal before the sugar bowl or an SECCG one got stabbed with a knife or a fork. SOS sent them home they weren’t tossed of the team.

That absolutely couldn't be more wrong. It was a broken glass, not a knife, and Spurrier dismissed them. Darren Hambrick literally begged to be allowed to come back and Spurrier said no. He finished up at South Carolina. You only post here to be contrary.

Yup. Darren Hambrick and Anthony Riggins. Hambricks dismissal was no small loss to the team either.

Troy Hambrick didn't play for Florida. He played at South Carolina and South Carolina State.

Yeah, I knew the other guy's first name was Anthony, but couldn't remember his last name. Darren was a stud and would be the star on this defense if we had him.

This dismissal is not a great concern to me. So be it. If the staff believed there was reason, and since I don’t know what happened, I trust the staff. Clearly he did something g just before, during, or since Saturday that pushed the staff.

I’m way way way more concerned about our on-field schemes and performance…. And where recruiting goes from here.

It is a big deal letting players go. We have to assume it was done for valid reasons. If it wasn’t, the team would implode, or tweet.

Hambrick got stitches in his hand and Riggins spent the night in the hospital and had surgery the following day. I'm sure it was a bloody mess. Those two were suspended and Cameron Davis was another one suspended that week as well.

I don't feel like reading thirteen pages, Can anyone give me a TLDR of what caused him to get the boot?

He was very talented but also seemed like a lockerroom cancer.

Interestingly the article said that Riggins and Hambrick had had other scuffles, before and Riggins had been suspended for skipping classes

Don't really know as they didn't release any details. Everything is just speculation.
