Any good admin never gives the reasons in public. Now throw in regulations around educational institutions.
We all want to know, but…..

I hear you-but is knowing why going to really make a difference? Could embarrass the young man and his family, hurt his future, embarrass his teammates...knowing does not change anything-Napier is a family man-so I am sure he and staff tried working things out with him-but, he and Smart also parted ways-so 2 coaches felt he wasn't right for their teams? Sounds like there could be a bit of an attitude problem..

Oh well-that is the way it goes-so are you saying whatever it was (must be serious to be dismissed) it is ok to keep him because of how the defense will look without him? smh

Is that what i said?? I said our defense sucks and now it will really suck. 3rd leading tackler, led team in sacks, tackles for loss, and QB hurries. Losing that guy from a defense will not help.

This is in no way fact, but it feels like what we have been complaining about with Dean (and other safeties/stars) and sort of with our RB rotation. The number of snaps for each do not feel like what should be correct. Perhaps Cox is like those but we saw better results overall and we did not know of anything behind the scenes.

Maybe there is a method to the madness of playing vets who are not what Napier wants to represent UF, but it gets him to where he needs the rest of the team to go. We shall see.

Also (and it should be mentioned), I think if this move isn't backed up by some real insider stuff, there will be a shift in play (to the bad) with the team moving forward. You don't just move out a "favored son" because of little things. Again, we shall see.

What we have here...is a failure...to communicate. Do you want me to educate you?

And to answer your question, his talent and abilities does not excuse his actions or whatever he's done. There's no one player that is above the team. Obviously, he made some big mistakes that caused his dismissal. You do the crime, you do the time!

Hmm, I think you both have it wrong.

Last time I tried it, it definitely had "pp" in it. I am quite sure of it.

We only have three or four seniors on the current roster who will fully exhaust their eligibility when the '22 season ends. That means that somewhere between 20-25 eligible players who are projected to be on the roster next season are going to have to leave, one way or another, before going into fall practice next year. A massive culling process is inevitable if we are to make room for the 25-28 new HS recruits and incoming transfers that are generally expected for '23. I would imagine that the threshold for dismissible conduct, insufficient buy-in, or talent deficiency issues will be quite low between now and then. My totally wild-ass guess is that Cox volunteered for the "expendables" designation in one way or another and was shown door as an example of what happens to those who can't or won't toe the mark. CBN, obviously, hasn't been absolutely perfect in absolutely every regard. But his adherence to principle has been exemplary to this point and I applaud him for it.

Napier's first order of business is changing the culture to a winning one. I'll defer to his judgement.

Because as a parent, I would still want to know what my son did, to get kicked off, especially if it’s legal troubles.
