Most of my praise/criticism of how CBN did in his first year will be coming from how we do in these last 4 games. All 4 very winnable and we could end up at 8-4. We're 8 games in and we know what kind of team we have. I'm very curious to see how everything shakes out!
I predicted 7-5 to start the year - so I hope they can win at least 3. I think TAMU is falling apart, so I think UF has a really good chance there and Vandy. FSU and USCe are both borderline ranked teams, so I assume those will be tougher. Hopefully they can sneak away with a win at home against USCe and get to 7 wins and then FSU is a true toss up.
Only see Vandy as the lock for a W. FSU has improved, A&M on the road and USCe isn't a pushover. Could go 2-2 best case and 1-3 worst.
The team that came back against the vols and pushed uga around for a quarter goes 4-0. The team that showed up in the first half of the uga game goes 1-3 or 0-4
I think that we could go 0-4 or 4-0....none of those teams are unbeatable and neither are the Gators. IF (and its a big if) Napier values showing consistent improvement, he needs to win 3 out of 4 of those games...especially on Friday night against FSU. It will not be easy.
I predicted 6-6, but that was with Utah in the L column....after that I thought 7 and 5 so I'll go with that. 3 and 1 against the last 4 teams.
I think the problem is we have 1 SEC win and though we fought hard in each of our losses, we just got outplayed and outcoached. 2-2 sounds good, and would leave us on my baseline prediction for this year, but the unfortunate thing is nothing is guaranteed with this team. TAMU - talented team that just somehow sucks. But noon start, away, following an emotional loss? Yikes. Typically not a winning combo for us USC - not as good as expected but still good and they absolutely worked us last season Vandy - we should win this, but ... well the fact that I say "but" at all is concerning FSU - tossup. they're better, we're worse, but last year didn't really feel like a tough matchup. but ... in Tally? I don't like it at all. I think our most likely 2 wins are TAMU and Vandy. If we lose to TAMU the wheels could easily come off, though. This season has been ... very hard.
I hope i am wrong, i think we lose all 4. I am behind Billy 100%. He wll turn this around. We need more talent.
I can't see us losing to Vandy this year. That said, going 5-7 doesn't feel very good either. We gotta steal one.
If this teams get an L against TAMU, then we just win 1 game. If they get a W against TAMU we win out.
UF should be favored against USC & Vandy, not against the other two. 6-6 with a top-10 recruiting class that fills our needs would be a successful season imho.
To me this is where Napier and the team show what they are made of. All 4 games are winnable and give much needed momentum for a brighter future. Win all 4 and I'm excited about next year, win 3 and I'm optimistic, win 2 and its wait and see, win 1 or none, and I lose faith in Napier. My gut says 2-2 but I'm hoping 3-1.
I think we go 2-2 but I could live with 1-3 as long as that win happens in Doak. This season is shot anyway, 5-7 and beating the Noles in their own backyard would be more satisfying for me than 6-6 with a loss to those jackasses.
Losing all 4 would be unacceptable for Billy. It is the only scenario that cranks up the heat to his seat in 2023. That means finishing the year with 6 straight losses after a 4-2 start. It means we got worse as the year progressed which makes the “changing the culture” argument a tough pill to swallow. Patience is given by fans as long as we see improvement. Going 0-6 in the back half of the year is anything but.
