This team sucks, but Billy should build the team however he wants. I will piss an moan because I am a fan, but I still support Billy. After 3 years if this thing doesn't look vastly different (hopefully 2) I may be off the Billy wagon. But not now. He has my full support to coach the team how he wants.
Could have been much worse. Before NIL let everyone start throwing money around Kirby bought a very good team.
Did anyone see the recruiting graphic they put up in the first half? We are not in Georgia’s stratosphere in terms of talent. Classes the last few years are not close! 25 5 stars to our 2. “Wes Chandler was Percy Harvin before Percy Harvin was born.”
Several points: We are vastly under talented compared to georgia. We definitely need to be in the talent acquisition and development business. AR it's not the answer. He doesn't have a great attitude and he is limited in many areas. It's too early to tell about coaching. New coaches, new players, new system, etc.
Great showing. I mean hoping for a miracle is healthy, but accepting reality is another. Now that we got that loss out of the way... This team has grit, I'll give them that. No quit! Whatever shortcomings some might have talent-wise they make up for with determination. Bravo. Some observations: First part of the game sucked. I thought we'd get blanked. Then the kids nutted up and it was a great effort, respectable. Even the media said we gave the Dawgs a scare. Cash incentives needed for tackling. Not some chain. Cash! Running into the crowd is dumb. Not the players, the plays. Off tackle, yes. Into the meat of the defense, not so much. When you see how fast Etienne is he can run around people-do that more! With AR playing if he isn't running 30% of the time it's gonna be a long day. If we're gonna lose a game put in another QB for big-game experience. All of us can see that there are open guys and AR still can't see them. I hope AR will improve more. But IMHO it might take a few more years of seeing the field. Nix is just starting to put it together and he's been playing like 15 years. I appreciate and love AR's attitude and athleticism, but he does get hurt easily. And I have mixed feelings on his return. If he's a dual threat. The dual part is needed much more. If you can't see targets you have to run more. I'm not ungrateful, just perhaps a bit critical. Ha! Recruit. Recruit, and recruit more. Close the deals. Thanks to the players, corches and staff. As well as the GC mods, posters and respected rivals! Go Gators.
Because hiring is hard. Any CEO will tell you that. Georgia and Alabama and Tennessee have all spent time in the wilderness until they got the right coach. “Wes Chandler was Percy Harvin before Percy Harvin was born.”
Really don't believe it's intentional. Sure, they are coddling AR on some levels. But the fourth and shorts and some other crucial plays have been head scratchers and on occasion outright embarrassing.
Same game you were. Go back and watch the film. “Wes Chandler was Percy Harvin before Percy Harvin was born.”
I can recall many successful coaches firing their OC and DC buddies and going on to win championships. Or not.
It took the administration 10 plus years to hire a coach that cares about recruiting and build a football facility. Lay this blame where it belongs, at the top.
