I don't disagree. And yes we could lose every game going forward which wouldn't change my support for the staff. The only thing to me that is disconcerting is the lack of improvement by the defense which to me could be a product of other schools now having game film to scheme against us which is to say outcoached. I don't expect a 180 by Toney but coaching and scheme can mask personnel issues. Take this with a grain of salt because I'm in no way comparing NFL talent with college talent but if you watched the steelers dolphins game last night the coaching adjustments were impressive. Miami looked unstoppable in the first half and Pittsburgh had no answer for all of the speed Miami had on offense. Pittsburgh made adjustments and shut them down in the second half. Same teams. Same speed and talent to deal with yet totally different results after half. Again, NFL are pros so they will receive coaching and tactical changes much more readily but coaching does matter at all levels. We have significant personnel issues but we have been beaten after half time too many times this year which is one of my concerns. My comment was in jest though since we have had more than our share of adversity as a fan base with injuries, scandal, PR failures, offensive and defensive extremes etc. The article is on point and I do believe we will see adaptation and progress next year.
He was still laying wood yesterday for the bucs. Could tell he was frustrated by the teams performance but that guy still brought 100%
Yes, the good adversity builds the character of individual players and a team as a whole. It's what changes the culture and it is happening before our very eyes.
I totally agree..Some of the ones I would especially love to see are Andrew Savaiinaea (I thought showed great burst off the edge in his highlights) and Jack Pyburn (Hard hitting Lber that seems to read th play well)..and Diwun Black (This one I really don't understand...jumped off the field in the Spring and looked awesome in his limited play against the cupcake team. JMHO
How exactly is Napier “gutting the place”? What has he done specifically to straighten things out? I keep reading all these platitudes. What is he actually doing differently than Mullen in terms of building?
Jimmys and Joes guys take time to shine. But then the shine lasts much longer and is more sustainable (Saban, Dabo, Meyer). If you are saying the 3 listed there are masters of both you should move them up to your first line about rare. This way it is more clear.
Just off the top of my head and many things fans fave been complaining about for years. 1. He got the administration to commit more financially to the program: Staffing budget, recruiting budget etc. 2. He improved the day to day for the players from food, parking etc. 3. He improved the living situation for the players 4. He's improved the recruiting experience: Katie and Bri are huge 5. He's improving recruiting. The player rating has improved. Many current and former players have commented on the change and how it's better. All of that improves the foundation for success. You can come in and improve the offense and score more points, but if you ignore the rest of the other stuff....we see what happens.
