While there's still the possibility that it was burglary gone wrong the facts strongly point to a politically motivated attack and while a rational person who have had the sense to determine if Nancy Pelosi would have been present "rational" is the last adjective that would be used to describe the assailant. The chances are the police were able to get to the residence quickly because they were fortuitously alerted through a private security service. Correction: The police arrived while the assault was in progress because they were alerted by Paul Pelosi through a 911 call. He apparently phoned 911 as soon as the assailant broke into the residence.

Although there is still the possibility that it was a burglary gone bad, the assailant's digital footprint is such that he is a strong believer in a number of absurd conspiracy theories several of which have demonized Pelosi and the Democrats. He reminds me of the guy who barged into the Comet Ping Pong Pizzeria armed with an assault type rifle because he wanted to save the children being held hostage in the basement by Hillary Clinton. I don’t know if that’s even true. But I know I’m usually in my underwear in the middle of the night so wouldn’t consider that unusual. Why a purported nudist would be wearing underwear is a more interesting question.
