What kids have definitely not been learning is how fragile that structure is, and how vigilant we must be in defending it. I for one took it for granted. Hopefully, in light of events over the last several years, that will now be a point of emphasis.
If they don’t understand the history of why the founders set it up that way and the structure they really don’t have any clue what they are defending. Perhaps that’s why many younger people look so favorably at Socialism.
