I'm envisioning a Nevin Shapiro type scenario (maybe including some jail-time) where the NCAA has UM dead to rights but does absolutely nothing to their program.
I think they all factor, but major differences in NIL will absolutely be the deciding factor in a significant amount of these cases.
I'm certain Napier will do everything in his power to elevate UF. I think he's a very good coach. Our administration and UAA has been our problem for the better part of a decade or more. If they don't commit to the new landscape of college football like they did to make us a Top 10 academic school, it doesn't matter what Napier does. We'll be 10-3 at best on an annual basis and he'll go somewhere that is committed to winning championships.
Any Gator fan here saying that needs a time-out for a few days... Napier cannot be blamed for trolls that would sell their own soul for cash...
Gonna be tough to compete getting these top players when we aren’t giving NIL money up front. It is what it is.
From all available data this is nothing that BN could have prevented. On top of that I don’t believe this over the top payments to kids will workout like programs expect. Look at A&M. These kids don’t care about their program accomplishing anything they are just doing a job. When’s the last time you meet a 18-22 year old kid passion about their job? I really think in the long run this will come back to bite programs. Remember this kid could have went to bama which would be a much smarter move than Miami. I’m not saying these kids won’t move into the next level I just can’t see these teams coming together to win anything because they aren’t there to win anything. He doesnt care about the Miami program and won’t care when they go 7-5 every year. He just wants money.
Despite what some seem to think, character really does count. Thankfully, CBN is very much aware of that fact and conducts himself accordingly.
Hey folks - think about how silly this is. 2 days ago we were sky high on CBN's recruiting. His first legit class and we're already Top 10. We just flipped a 4* OL from ref$u. We're beating Bama head to head for recruits -- kicking ass and taking names. 2 days ago. Then yesterday some clown on the scUM payroll pulls a total asshole act and trolls UF on stage, and instead of giving this jerk the middle finger we're overnight back to doom and gloom? Man, some of y'all are really embarrassing yourselves.
My son is a recruited athlete and he's very passionate about his "job" of improving. His goal is the Olympic trials. However, my son didn't grow up in the same environment as many 5* football players did.
