    Being much older now I understand the impacts to people living nearby but I can’t say the 8-year old still within me isn’t excited to see something like this.

    Totally. I remember when I was a kid in the 80s, Publix used to track hurricanes by putting colored pins in a giant map on the wall. There was no greater thrill then seeing a track heading near Daytona Beach and picturing my school leveled to its foundation.

    Seeing the footage of Ft. Myers now as an adult sends shivers down my back, but it is also just an amazing display of the awesome power of nature.

    We were looking at houses in Hawaii and came across one that was less than half what we expected. In the description- "a quarter of the lot has been reclaimed by [the volcano]"
