The Gator Hater t shirt is what I found disrespectful..no bama Hater shirt too..that is why I believe this was all planned by that ruiz and u..to disrespect us
I agree, selling himself to the highest bidder is one thing. Being a schmuck about it is something else again.
I'm not gonna go and claim bust especially right now. That would definitely be sour grapes talking. But I don't believe in locks either. I imagine there were some questions about his size and speed which seems fair but for me at least it's wait and see...like it almost always is. Meyer put Gator Nation on "Omar hunter watch" and he didn't live up to his hype. Neither have trey sanders or bowman who we all felt were "can't miss" prospects. People wanted McClain as they should have and they shouldn't predict him as a bust but he is far from a guarantee at the next level.
I think Napier will get us back to 10 wins, but the structural obstacles to us being elite again are too much to overcome. He may win a Natty, but it will be at LSU or Alabama, not here.
It's all bs, he knows it'll never be approved, his "design" was some other random stadium design thrown on top of a public park without even space for parking. He does have millions, but is only a billionaire because of what his part of a company is worth. He's making that company sign the contracts and pay, but it's a publicly traded company and I doubt everyone is happy the majority owner is signing these contracts that won't see a return on its investment.
No..there was a photo of him standing and pointing to someone standing right next to him wearing a Gator Hater t shirt
Making excuses in case Billy doesn’t work out. “The system”, “NIL”, etc. probably true, but an excuse can be true.
It's been a long time folks, and its not a coincidence. Our administration and the UAA got left in the dust. Every year, we fall further behind. The only way we can catch up is if those who are ahead of us screw up. Anyone seeing that happen? New coaches get a top 5 bump class and win a title in year 3 or they don't win one, period. Billy is a big improvement over our last two coaches to this point in the recruiting battles, but in order to pass Saban and Kirby, he has to be so much more than a big improvement. Today just shows us that we don't have the $$$ and chops to get those 5 star guys. And if we can't get them, we don't win championships. FWIW, I like our coach. He's not the problem.
So-how about giving the man a chance? Has been here what about 10 months? Been following the Gators since ray Graves (I was a kid at the time, but with 4 men in the house-my mom and I learned all about football and the Gators-had to listen to games on the radio) My family waited a lot longer than 20 years to win our first true SEC championship after our 1984 was stripped from us-and longer than 20 years for our first NC-have patience the wins will happen-that kid was never coming here-it wasn't anything UF did wrong-it is a game that kid was playing to disrespect UF-do you truly want that kind of player representing our school-
In 14 years, I'm 71. We've already gone 14 years since the last. Are we any closer now? We've been running in place for a long time now. I think Billy can get us back to 2nd in the East, 10 wins and a NY6 bowl, which is exactly what Mullen did 3 out of his 4 years. That just brings us back to decent, according to most of our fans. Here's the problem. Administration made a priority out of being a top 10 school academically, UAA let us fall way behind. We're making up some ground with facilities and recruiting budget, but still behind, because our rivals keep moving ahead. I see a lot of denial as to what our program is now. Many still see us as the same program that just lost the SEC CG to Bama in 2009. That's ancient history. We're closer to 1979 than 2009. This isn't as simple as finally getting a coaching hire right, which would be an improvement over the last 3 ( I think we did finally fix that part).
Screw us for a second, imagine choosing Miami over Alabama lmao. Kid went on and on about "development" being the most important thing in his recruitment and chose to play for Jahmile Addae over Nick Saban or Corey Raymond. For his sake, I hope the downpayment was 7 figures.
