"2003 - The Zookers upset #4 uga by holding them to 0-for on third down conversions (IIRC)." Clearly no relation to Patrick Toney.
93 was my favorite game, with Errict Rhett pounding the ball in the rain. But 84 and 92 were the most satisfying.
I had UGA fans sitting behind me that wouldn't stop jawing. Gators were ahead but had ball on their own one yard line and the dog fans were laughing and saying to me "this is the point in where we break your heart". Then Kerwin hit that 99 yard TD pass to Nattiel - he was still running when I turned around flashing huge smile to them. They surprised me by patting me on the back and congratulating me on their way out. Going out that night was a blast...
I remember that play as well as that goal line stand ..it was an exciting 1st WLOCP for me..I then went to everyone of them from 1984 to 2003...haven't been back since..did go when they came to the Swamp of course
1984 and I can still hear Vince Dooley say after the game that, "We were afraid they were better than us and our fears were quickly well founded." The italicized part is a quote. Had to paraphrase the first part because I don't remember it as well. 2008 Knowshon vs. Spikes and the timeouts to make their sorry asses stay on the field and suffer the humiliation that much longer.
1992, their rude as hell fans were sure that 90 and 91 were just blips and they would be dominating with their Heisman back, he was totally shut down and after the game their fans showed their class by throwing garbage at the team. 2008 was also nice, but I wish Urbs had run the score up instead of just calling time outs.
I understand the sentiment, but he'd have been lambasted by the media for attempting to run up the score. Not much could be said about taking the timeouts, though.
Don’t remember much about the ‘84 game. Had a roomie from Jax, so we had the parking and pre-game all figured out. Got pretty drunk. Did catch one of the little footballs the cheerleaders used to throw. That’s about all I remember about that game.
I'll never forget that '93 game. I had to take my 3 young children to a fall festival at a local church and was listening to the game on the radio. That last drive by uga kept dragging on and I wanted to hear the ending so I kept driving around, pretending I couldn't find the church till the last pass incompletion by Zeir. My kids had no idea what was going on and when the game ended I said, oh look there's the church. LOL.
I know a highlight clip has been posted earlier, but here is THE PLAY. If you asked me for one play in Gator football history, this is the one. Suck it, Georgia. www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7ms5cwPu3w
2008 the year after the td team celebration, the same one where Spikes flattened Knowshon Moreno. That set the tone.
1984. Such a big ugly monkey off the back of UF. The goal line stand. The pass. Helped the frat boys carry the goal post out of the stadium that day. Yeehaw. The Rhett game in the rain was something, as well.
