All this trolling is giving me shades of Dalvin Cook and that other kid. Whatever, this is recruiting.

 

Now I agree..1 guy isn't going to make or break us..however people are just curious as to why..and I haven't read any so called gross comments here..just some fans questioning the pick and disappointment as every site including his coach all thought he was going to pick UF

 

Nothing is locked in until they sign on the dotted line.

 

We already have both sides of the field and the middle covered with this DB class.

 

I thought the same thing..wonder if in December he flips to us Ala Cook when he and that WR ( whose name I forgot) committed to us and then flipped to fsu at the last minute

He’s going to go broke paying these kids. Miami revenues are what they are and will be. Ruiz’ commitment will not cause 50,000 to come to the stadium and millions to follow. It would be an unbelievable transformation.

 

I think he got lied to like everyone else.

my guess is Ruiz picked up the phone, asked the kids parents what it would take, and cut the deal, last minute of course, to stick it to UF and our fan base.......that's how I see it happening anyway.

I find this argument disingenuous…his record at FIU came from taking over a team in its 5th/6th season of actual football. That is an incredible task. his record at Oregon included a pac 12 title and rose bowl victory. He had another 9 win and 10 win season in 4 total years. (2 division titles). (The other being a pac 12 Covid shortened season). That is not “average”.

you can argue winning in the pac 12 ain’t hard but guess what…he is in the ACC coastal which is Putrid so it is realistic that with his recruiting he will have a talented enough roster to win and compete for ACC titles. He did it in the similar Pac 12.

We continue to bag on Mario’s coaching ability but his results at Oregon show otherwise.

Now, his choice of assistants like Steele and Gattis - those guys are bums. But within 1-2 years the talent level at Miami will be so much higher than other ACC coastal teams an average coach will be running away with that division.
