Wow, did not expect that at all. Clearly playing in front of more than a few hundred people is not a priority for him
I'm glad I totally forgot about this while working on my report and just thought to check in. No big surprise. With NIL, you can't get too excited about anyone, especially those looking for the early payday. Let Ruiz throw money in the toilet for a few years and see what happens.
Nauseating.... really doesn't make sense unless shady stuff going on. Can't spell SCUM without UM. I don't blame the kid but UM lives up to their rep.
Lol... me too. I mean... that program is a cesspool complete with a dysfunctional turds on their coaching staff.
I’m totally biased of course, but other than money I can’t think of a single decent reason why a kid would want to play in a subpar conference in front of a non-existent fan base. If he was from some small, frigid town up north and was dazzled by the nightlife and beaches, OK maybe. Otherwise come on man
I was realllllly hoping to be wrong. But there is a reason I said Miami and not Bama. Miami was always the oddball out and this was strictly a financial decision. The #1 pick in the NFL draft knows they are going to the worst team. They still take that contract each and every time. McClain is 2.5 and done. To those following recruiting since the late 90s, this was Anquan Boldin 2.0.
Yeas and no. He may be the real deal but we freaked out over avantae Williams and look how that turned out. He's horrible and they want him gone
I don't think it is legal - perhaps preventing it is unenforceable but those are different things. We could have promised $$$ but that is illegal so we didn't. It is all speculation on my part. But I'm not the only one speculating on what is going on behind the scenes. What do you think? Is it just the UM has deeper pockets or is it that they're willing to do some things (illegal) that our coaching staff is not willing to do? I say the latter.
Miami has deeper pockets and always have. These kids are taking the money and beating the system . There are no rules or if there not being enforced. Football in college is a way different game . Get away from the idea there is integrity and academia involved . Let’s move on and not be shocked anymore. If Miami wants a kid they are gonna get him. Watch out for USC too .. It’s getting cranked up.
Some schools are playing minor league football, meanwhile we are still trying to compete as a college football team.
I think we have the money, just not willing to spend it. There has been sense around here for a long time that we don't have to. 80's probation has had long term effect on the willingness of our alumni and boosters to put out this way and the UAA has been vigilant about stamping it out when it rears its head. Here we are in a new age where what was once verboten is now okay. This isn't the first time this year where we have been hurt by it and sadly it won't be the last.
Give it time. I 100% agree that staff has to win for us to become THE destination. We shall see if CBN gets it.
