Green threatens government retaliation to those corporations that no longer donate. That seems like a improper use of political power. Welcome to the 2022 GOP.

Yes it does. The very definition of abuse of political power. I saw somewhere recently that MTG is the 5th most prolific Republican congressional fundraiser. She is feeling her oats and will have impact on her party and, god help us, the country if the midterms go the way we all expect.

In full disclosure, most of her contributions come from donors wanting her to get those toes fixed.

Companies have way more power than politicians. They’ll be just fine. MTG has zero power or influence inside the GOP much less the government. Her power is to generate rage at her stupidity.

Hopefully, she is alone one this (well, alone with DeSantis), because it’s hard to imagine many more straightforward examples of abuse of power. Corporate communism? Seriously??

“There is going to be investigations coming. And there should be, because the way corporations have conducted themselves ... I've always called it corporate communism.”

Looks like amazon took the threat seriously

Amazon resumes donations to some 2020 election deniers, just in time for midterms

Amazon has quietly mothballed its pledge to stop supporting politicians who refused to certify the 2020 election. The company, like many, said it would suspend donations to those who participated in “the unacceptable attempt to undermine a legitimate democratic process.” 21 months later, however, it has changed its tune — just in time for midterms.

To that you can add in, "Mr. Putin, please help keep gas prices high until the GOP takes the House and/or Senate and then we will scuttle all funding for Ukraine in your war."

I think the majority of the fuel increase is due to declining refinery capacity restrictions meeting increased demand. Now imagine if the largest refinery in the US, owned by KSA, was taken offline. The concept of the SPR is great until you realize that cars/trucks/planes/trains/ships/furnaces/power plants don't run on oil, they run on products refined from oil. We need more refineries, preferably in areas in close proximity to cheap abundant nat gas to fuel the process and existing oil pipeline facilities and then we need pipeline network to get that refined product to demand centers. Getting the political consensus that is a national infrastructure project needed to maintain our economy thru the transition would seem impossible

Maybe it's just me but when the Republicans regain their majority in the House as expected come January, MTG could go from being an interesting nutcake to a representative with real influence within her party's caucus. Keep in mind that it's very likely that a majority of Republicans in the House will be election deniers and very likely support what would be considered fringe positions and her proposal isn't that much different from that of Ron DeSantis with respect to Disney and the Reedy Creek special district.

I wish we’d all stop pussyfooting around by referring to those who dispute, without a shrewd of proof, the validity of the last presidential election as “election deniers” and start calling these people what they really are, in the colloquial sense: “fascists” or “traitors”. That very single voter isn’t absolutely outraged at those spineless, anti-democratic candidates is just a mystery to me. They might as well be walking around with giant signs proclaiming. SCREW DEMOCRACY. VOTE FOR ME. Even DeSantis, of whom I’m no fan, has distanced himself from the fascists.

I’m so spittin’ mad about this, I feel like Yosemite Sam.

She has raised A-LOT of money. If Meadows is speaker, MTG will have some juice. He will owe her. Vote accordingly.
