Abrahamic religion is pretty easy to bash given their big guy, god, El, whatever name you want to use; is personally responsible for the untimely death of over 2mm people; Satan 10. Based on their own book that is infallible in its believers eyes. I ll side with the guy, lady or it; who isn’t a hypocritical murderer and promoter of rape and general assault.

See what I mean by the crazies. No need to listen to the podcast. They’re like Pavlovian dogs. Any mention of Maddow sends them salivating.

It’s about educating oneself. It has nothing to do with the midterms.

I haven’t watched Maddow in years, but in spite of her clear political biases, she often did present interesting and relevant historical anecdotes that were informative.

I’ll make a point to listen to this podcast.

Same here. I’m not a fan of one sided political commentary whether it is her or Tucker … didn’t really want to listen to it but my wife put it on in the car even after I said “no thanks”. It’s a great pod cast that really sucks you in, though, and so far has not been overtly political. Didn’t even mention Sen. Lundeen’s party affiliation…

From 80 years ago? Pretty sure none of us relate to anything from before some of our grandfathers were adults.

FWIW, I was just being snarky anyway. Thus the winky face.

Oh... This again... I'll let you research my opinion of the OT and its interpretation rather than go into it for the 1000th time. :)

A summary: I dont believe God condoned all that. I think the scriptures document what people believed. It's my belief that the religious of the OT and its "law" brought about the need for the Jesus in the NT and His claim that HE was the fulfillment of the law while literally smacking down those who tried to follow much of that old way of thinking.

If only it were restricted to 80 years ago. The none too subtle message of the podcast is that we are repeating history

Neither is Democrat racism. If you are going to go back 80 years to make some kind of connection might as well go back 120 years to show the democrat connection to racism.

Difference is that the Democrats ditched the racists, courted Black voters, and the white supremacists joined the Republican Party. Meanwhile, Christofascists are still Christofascists. But thanks for trying.

I enjoy history. every time I move, I read about the history of the place and its people. I enjoy US history. To me its history and not politics or religion. I knew nothing about this so I am enjoying learning.
