It's not clear one way or another. You can have communication issues and still be able to think clearly. However, there isn't a way to determine that based on watching him in a debate last night.
I don’t know what you were watching in 2018 to even give you an idea that Gillum wiped the floor with him. If it’s any solace to you Crist did do better than Gillum.
The debates. I watched the debates lol. Anyone with two eyes, two ears, and their heads not up the Republican Party's arse saw it.
I thought the same thing, but I guess everyone is always gonna think their side did better. But how anyone could watch that poor guy last night and say that he won that debate is astonishing
Oz performed better on the whole, but as I said, you don't want to be the guy who offers up the viral gaffe that the other side can use in attack ads. Oz was that guy. His abortion comment is getting millions of views, a lot of ridicule, and will be used by the Fetterman campaign to bludgeon him.
You might be right. I didn't see the debate yet the only news I'm hearing is about "local politicians". I think that's a loss. It's like in football when a QB dominates a game and then throws a pick six in the final minutes to lose.
They'll definitely use it against him. I don't know how much pre-debate support Oz was getting from pro-choice voters that had abortion rights high on their list. I suppose he'll lose those votes if they existed at all.
It has nothing to do with cheerleading one side over the other. I watched a good chunk of the debate and there's no way Fetterman wins after that performance, in a race that's neck and neck. In a state where polling often skews Democrat. Normally debates don't move the needle much, but that one probably gives Oz about 5 points. The problem for Fetterman is he and his campaign tried to keep the stroke a secret and have been super secretive about his medicals since that event. I would not be surprised if Oz wins by 5 points, to be honest. It's not a cheerleading thing for me. Just calling it how I see it.
His comment on abortion that the choice should be between "women, doctors, [and] local political leaders." Considering the percentage of Pennsylvanians who support reproductive rights, he had to be getting some support (which is why he changed his stance on abortion after winning the primary).
Fetterman is going to lose badly. The correct thing would have been for Fetterman to step down after the stroke and allow a qualified candidate on the Democrat side to stand in his place. If Fetterman does that, the democrats probably take this seat. Oz's abortion remarks will get the usual scorn, but that is to be expected. Fetterman's embarrassing performance last night was not expected and the Dems will lose this seat as a result. They could have salvaged it if Fetterman had been humble and stepped down after the stroke. Fetterman is going to lose. Pretty much everybody (on both sides) sees that.
Good news is that we'll have an answer in a couple weeks. Go ahead and buy your tickets to the victory party now!
Not sure why pointing out the obvious means I'm going to the victory party. Can we not just have an honest discussion about what happened? It's beyond me how the Democrats could have allowed Fetterman to continue on. There are just some things you cannot overcome. Herschel Walker, for all his faults, could have and may conceivably recover from the revelations in his past. There's just no way Fetterman should have been allowed to continue on in his current condition. There are probably over a thousand Democratic leaders in PA that could have stepped in and been more adequate. This isn't about a victory party. This is a hard assessment of a tremendous political miscalculation by Democrats and John Fetterman. They didn't have to squander this seat.
