I don't expect a ton of improvement by the defense. I'll truly welcome it if they show up. Where the game will get interesting is if AR can do what he did with Tenn. We just need to match them on offense. Huge task, but more doable than expecting a break out game on defense. AR and the running backs tearing it up will help. Some decent passing too. Dog fan from Alabama is right, Kirby hates us big-time. So does Bennett. Bennett hates us so much he'll try crazy stuff to run up the score. He tossed a pick trying a long pass last time at the end of the game. We're doing a nice job recruiting. Getting this on an even playing field will help. Then it's who wants it more. Georgia might just win it all this year. Maybe it's Tenn's year. Maybe Ohio States. Go Gators.
My old take (again)... If we want to win a game this year against a quality opponent, either AR is going to be transcendent or we win the TO battle by a nice amount (not just 1-0). Otherwise, UGa has to play bad enough to lose it (obviously meaning more than just TOs). I don't think we win this game. Will UGa lose it? We shall see.
It’s interesting, we know our defense needs changes yet we continue doing the same thing over and over.
Exactly. UGly will have to lose it, and at the same time the Gators need to minimize mistakes. Florida showed that it could hang with Tennessee on offense, but this defense is not going to win games. All I ask is that the defense not lose the game, and that they turn UGA mistakes into Gator opportunities.
It’s the largest spread since they started recording spread (only 1995) but it’s the largest spread for either team since 1995. In the last 4 years they’ve averaged beating us 4 out of 5. That fumble! When I was at UF (90s), bearing them wit HBC seemed almost like a forced rivalry. It was the Noles then. Georgia a historically big favorite to ‘break’ struggling Florida football program
The front page mentions our offense getting back on track. What about our defense? Have the DBs moved up into that prime real estate in front of the WR? I understand that’s scheme but our CBs have been substandard all season. There’s so much to be desired on that defense.
22 is a lot We will be trailing and have the UT game mindset. More open offense = more spread = better AR = more points. So we should at least get into the 20s points wise UGA will get a lot more than that though. But they probably need in the 50s to cover. Something like 49-28 is realistic in theory. But we slow the game down as well (despite not getting stops)….22 points on less possessions than normal is a lot
You may be right. If we can’t force a punt against the average team, how are we stopping UGA from scoring on every single possession. Hate to say it, but I wouldn’t put no mortgage on Florida this week.
I'm sorry but at this point I'm not that impressed with BN. There is a good possibility he will have the worst first year coaching record since Charley Pell in 1979 which is 43 years ago and 9 coaches. I'm a fan and certainly not an expert. I certainly hope I am wrong..
Georgia has the #2 scoring defense in the country. Yeah, there's a shutout of Vandy in there but there's also #8 Oregon held to 3 points as well. O/U for this game is around 57 so the implied score would be 40-17 +/-. Georgia is 4-2 against UF with Kirby Smart as their head coach. In those 4 victories, the average score was 34-12......a 22-point difference. Just some useless information.
