Exactly. The five out offense is very popular in modern basketball. A big who can make the defense respect them on the perimeter is important in that scheme.
I'm guessing he must hit them in practice...he consistently took a couple every game last year for the first half of the season like he had a green light. Until he makes ONE in a game I'm not expecting anything, lol
Sorry to correct you, but based on what I looked at, he took 9 3-point attempts last season, and only once did he attempt more than one in a game.
I like CC and think he is a good player, but if our team is going to rely on him becomeing the next Dirk N we will have a long season. I say let him try some threes in games where we are comfortably ahead and see how that goes. If he shoots it with confidence and makes a decent percentage then maybe let him take a few in meaningful games.
Very old school. It requires getting good post position, a good pass, and great footwork. Really effective if it can be shot with either hand. Not taught that much anymore. Da Meat Hook was fun to watch. Kareen and Hakeem had really good ones. So did Dave Cowens.
Yeah, Kareem was pretty decent with it, considering the bulk of his 38,000+ came by way of that shot.
For him they called it the Sky Hook. Nearly unstoppable. Only blocked a few times. If anyone should have gone straight to the pros out of high school it was Kareem. They took away the dunk from the college game because of him. The rules of basketball were changed by three players. Chamberlain with inbounding over the backboard. Karim with taking away the dunk. George Mikan with changing the width of the "key".
For sure. But if he's on the block and doesn't wait to get doubled it could be a better option than trying to muscle through the defense with a bad shot when the refs swallow their whistles.....if it's practiced. It's fallen out of favor, however. I guess time spent on other practice make more sence.
A close range jump hook? Well sure, but I think he already has that shot in his arsenal, and he has already demonstrated being able to easily score near the basket. I thought we were discussing him adding range to his offensive attack. So, in the context of the discussion, a long range jump hook is a tougher shot than a three pointer, and far more valuable to the team and to Colin as a basketball player. He needs to at least be able to make enough to threaten the defense with it. That’s the way basketball is played in the modern era.
