Georgia served really well and even when they didn't our passing was still not crisp. Just a really bad day and I hope we don't have another one.
Swept by Georgia at home. This team seems undisciplined to me. Then again I have the untrained eye, so what do I know. It just seems that they struggle to put lesser teams away, and occasionally lose to teams they shouldn't. Not trying to be all negative, but you would like the team to progress, not regress during the course of the season. Hopefully this will light a fire inside them, but I hoped the same thing after the South Carolina loss.
Dave Boos gave a chalk talk before the game. He said Georgia's scheme was different than what we have seen. The first pass and where the middle blocker is left, and right must be read immediately to get your blockers in place. That may have been part of it, but overall there was not crisp playing. We are very young, and we may have some ups and downs, but this is the most talented team we have had in a while. Keep the faith..
Kinda off-topic, but you have to feel terrible for Wisconsin, having won the NCAA title last year yet having that overshadowed by the simply horrible recent event. I hope someone goes to jail for a long time over this.
Totally agree. As a fan, you get to "know" the players at least sort of (especially with the VB socials) and get to know their families also. I keep thinking how I would feel if this were our team and players we "know." It really is awful.
Gators win the 1st set at Auburn 25-23. Gators win the 2nd set 25-18. Gators win the 3rd set 25-15 and match. Good win on the road against a good barner team.
Fun match to watch. I don't know that much about VB, but it seemed like a lot of passes were close to the net, yet Stuckey made great sets nevertheless. She's impressive.
Swept Arkansas yesterday. As per the norm the back half of the double was far tougher today, but the gators rolled in the fifth set today to sweep the weekend.
At the last chalk talk, Coach Dave said that he hates back-to-back games because the second one is much harder to prepare for. I didn't really get his reason why that is. I did like it today when the team was in another huge hole, yet battled back to win. This team has absolutely no quit.
Huge match on Wednesday night with Kentucky at Georgia. It will be televised on SECN+. I'm going to take the time to watch two of the three best teams in SEC 2022. I haven't seen Kentucky play yet so there is that. I want to know what the Gators are up against in a couple weeks with back-to-back weekend matches in Gainesville. I find it hard to root for the poodles in anything, but I'll be rooting for the poodles to knock off the wildcats. Both UGA and UK would be 1 game back of the Gators in the loss column with UF leading at 10-2 and with 6 matches to play. UK swept UGa. UF needs to hold serve tomorrow night vs last place Mizzou and on Saturday vs 11th place A&M and then Kentucky comes to town. It is looking like the SEC will be decided in that head to head matchup with the cats on Nov 19 & 20.
1. UK is better than UGA. 2. UGA clearly played their best match of the year against UF. 3. UK out dug, out served, and out set UGA. 4. Was a fun match to watch although I was rooting for UGA. 5. Rutherford is the best player on UK, a physical monster.
