A Bizarre Psychological Phenomenon

I went to ebay & searched monopoly. There are more versions than there are of cheerios which is a bizarre phenom in itself. None of 'em I saw had him with a monocle.

Went poking around and found a YouTube collection of videos on the subject. Haven't viewed any of them, but the titles of a few suggest parallel universes.

Or that Ed McMahon was never associated with Publisher's Clearing House Sweepstakes. Although that is sort understandable because his face appeared on similar mailings from a rival company called "American Family Publishers".

 

but is that image legit, or doctored? The monocle strap doesn't appear to be drawn in the same dark black solid line as the rest of the image. Looks like this image with a monocle drawn on ...

 

The only thing I meant was that perhaps we have also seen “incorrect” depictions along the way that have reinforced our propensity to misremember. The incorrect depictions could be a result of the Mandela syndrome itself, or maybe they were a result of trying to mimic an image but not violate copywrite, or could be a knockoff.
