Apparently trump kept some documents hoping to trade them for documents related the Russia collusion investigation.

It was widely reported, and pretty much anyone with a functioning brain would see it as odd that a U.S. President would meet with the Russians having only Russian provided interpreters and note-takers with none on the U.S. side. The U.S. govt has absolutely zero insight into the Trump-Putin meetings throughout his admin. Shameful.

This and the Helsinki moment were what convinced me to start leaning more towards believing him actual traitor rather than useful idiot. (And those are the only two choices).

I saw that live and it stopped me in my tracks and made me believe they had something on him. He is a Russian asset and there's very little doubt of that anymore.

It was a huge story replete with pictures of Lavrov and Trump yucking it up in the Oval.

The boss and I were talking, can you imagine if USSS took him to the hill. The mob would have parted and chanted as Trump fist bumped in glee, while strolling through the Chaos with his entourage.

Right up and into the Chamber. What would have occurred then?

and DT loses again. fed judge clears way for Pence aid to testify

Judge bucks Trump, orders Pence aide to testify to Jan. 6 grand jury (msn.com)

A former top aide to Vice President Mike Pence returned before a grand jury Thursday to testify in a criminal probe of efforts to overturn the 2020 election after federal courts overruled President Donald Trump’s objections to the testimony, according to people familiar with the matter.

In a sealed decision that could clear the way for other top Trump White House officials to answer questions before a grand jury, Chief U.S. District Judge Beryl A. Howell ruled that former Pence chief of staff Marc Short probably possessed information important to the Justice Department’s criminal investigation of the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol that was not available from other sources, one of those people said.

Trump appealed, but the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit refused to postpone Short’s appearance while the litigation continues, the people said, signaling that attempts by Trump to invoke executive privilege to preserve the confidentiality of presidential decision-making were not likely to prevail.

Ornato being called back to testify. I suspect he has some misremembering to correct now that more evidence has been secured and others have testified. Wiill his memory improve or will he perjure himself? Sounds like they are building a case for obstruction. Tony will have to make up his mind if he was giving people advice on his own or at somebody else's request.

January 6 committee member says panel will ask former Secret Service agent to testify again | CNN Politics

Rep. Zoe Lofgren, a member of the House select committee investigating the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol, told CNN on Sunday the panel will ask former Secret Service Assistant Director Tony Ornato to testify again.

“We’re in a position in the very near future to call the witnesses from the Secret Service back in for a few additional questions,” the California Democrat told CNN’s Pamela Brown on “CNN Newsroom,” explaining that the panel had wanted to “get through all the documentary evidence … over a million documents,” which they’ve now done.

The House select committee has made clear it believes Ornato was a central figure who could provide valuable information about former President Donald Trump’s movements and intentions leading up to and on January 6.
Not only did Ornato once run Trump’s detail, but he also made the unprecedented move of joining White House staff as the deputy chief of staff in December 2019 on a temporary assignment and eventually returned to the Secret Service to run its training program.
    ......................................
“It’s not just about the incident, but the testimony – and I will say, we have, broadly, questions about the advice given to some witnesses, and whether all the witnesses were completely candid with the committee, and that’s something that we’re interested in, and I think the Department of Justice will be very interested in,” Lofgren said.

Well, the guy could shoot someone on Park Ave and not lose votes, why would allowing Russians into the Oval office where they've never been allowed to be, sharing how he got rid of Comey be a problem? Nothing wrong with that. Wait a minute, that falls in that whole electing people with integrity and intelligence idea. Adding : Love of country, the constitution and acknowledging who our enemies are.

“A member of the far-right Oath Keepers told a jury on Tuesday that he traveled to Washington, D.C., and stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, in an attempt to stop Congress from certifying Joe Biden's election win.

If President Trump declared the Insurrection Act, we would be working alongside or with pro-government forces against what we saw as anti-government forces,"

I threw my rifle and pistol in the car…and ultimately ended up on the steps of the Capitol, moving into the Capitol building, to try and stop Congress from certifying [Biden's presidency],"

Oath Keepers member testifies group was preparing "if need be…to take up arms and fight back" on Jan. 6 - CBS News

Clarence Thomas - our first MAGA supreme. CT grants Graham request for stay to delay him having to testify in Georgia case. Will the rest of the court abdicate their oath and protect this MAGA mouthpiece?

Justice Thomas Temporarily Shields Graham From Testimony (1)

US Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas temporarily shielded Senator Lindsey Graham from having to testify before a Georgia grand jury investigating whether Donald Trump and his supporters illegally tried to undo the former president’s election loss.

Thomas on Monday issued an interim order that will protect Graham until the court decides whether to grant the South Carolina Republican’s bid for a longer-term shield. Thomas gave no explanation.

Graham turned to the Supreme Court last week after the 11th US Circuit Court of Appeals refused to insulate him from a grand jury subpoena. Thomas is assigned to handle emergency matters from the 11th Circuit.

Graham says he is protected by the Constitution’s speech-or-debate clause, which limits probes into federal lawmakers’ official work.

"Absurd": Experts say Clarence Thomas "giving the finger to the court" by blocking Graham subpoena (msn.com)

Glenn Kirschner, a former federal prosecutor, told MSNBC the Supreme Court is continuing to dig itself "deeper and deeper into the hole of illegitimacy."

"The word 'recusal' doesn't seem to be in Clarence Thomas' lexicon. He's wading into the same territory in which he has a conflict. He's the one who voted to withhold his own wife's deeply damaging and potentially incriminating text messages," Kirschner said.

Harvard Law Professor Laurence Tribe shared similar concerns and argued that Thomas violated a federal law that requires "any 'justice' to recuse when his or her 'impartiality might reasonably be questioned' or his or her 'spouse is known by the justice to have an interest that could be substantially affected by the outcome.'"

Tribe added that "Thomas is giving the finger to the Court on which he sits, the Chief Justice and Associate Justices with whom he serves, the Constitution he interprets and the Nation that pays his salary."
