Got it - thanks. I went back looking for it and see he was referencing NFL performance to date - still a stupid thing to say

Well, I don't watch "you", because of it. Sorry, but no check from me.

Couldn't you choose a different aspect to go all out there, like 40-yard dash time? Maybe even the long throw contest. After that...damn.

Hurts while being demoted for Tua was still way better at passing than AR at this point.

I find all of this pretty amusing. It's like watching Steven Smith vs whoever. This is what I posted "I really do believe he can succeed at the next level whenever that occurs as a TE." Only time will tell but it's just an opinion. Could be right could be wrong. No one really knows. Lots of qb's ended up as TE's.
But just slow your roll a bit, it's what makes forums fun, we don't all agree and frankly would be boring if we did. Heck, I was wrong after our first game, I thought a 9-3 season was possible.
Frankly, if AR succeeds as QB this level and next I'll be one of his biggest fans. I really do hope he succeeds. Now carry on...

I agree, he probably would be a very good TE.

I also now see why Mullen was not in a rush to make him the starter. The simple fact of the matter is that he's just not a very good passer at present.

    Can he get better?

Well, that is the million dollar question, literally.

That's a pretty dramatic way of saying "I disagree" but your feedback has been duly noted and properly filed.

What? AR would arguably be the best QB in a air raid spread passing attack in the country.

Look at the play at 46:45…

Tom Brady himself wouldn’t be successful with that design. 2 route play with both guys running into a few yards of each other right in the middle of the field. It’s 2 vs 5 in less than a 10 yard diameter….

I would just like to hear what napier's expectations are with that play call especially in that situation with a compressed field. I just don't get it

it’s one of the most poorly designed plays I’ve ever seen. Teams make bad play calls all the time but the plays themselves may be viable in a certain situation. I don’t see any situation where that play works

We can agree to disagree on that. I saw pretty much nothing at that point. Honestly, just on talent and potential, I'd take AR over that version of Hurts. But, JMHO.

Funny, all those receivers who couldn't get open when Franks was in the game were magically all wide open when Trask took over. I have the distinct feeling it would be the same this year if we were fortunate enough to have a QB of that stature.

I agree, he just needs to stop thinking about the NFL, stay, play and learn the position. Hendon Hooker was awful his first two years at Va Tech....which is why I wasn't worried about him when he transferred to UT. Obviously Hooker learned a lot about playing the position from the new head guy up at UT.

Trask was a much better QB than Franks. He missed open guys all. the. time. so I'm not sure what you're trying to say here.

Unless it's that Franks wasn't a very good QB, in which case I agree, but it's sort of a tertiary point.
