Because there is never abuse of laws, and there is no road to Hell that is paved with good intentions. Would you tell someone to just embrace a future of pervasive government surveillance, because if you're not doing anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about?

So true. It was a school she interned at and just stayed another year or two. Now she has a mix of kids in her class. Some with learning disabilities and some that are gifted. Try to outline your plan around that! She got certified to teach gifted over the last two summers. My son was gifted and she has always been intrigued by his mind LOL Just a note: She gets kids sometimes from the voucher schools, it takes her months to get them up to speed. Vouchers are such a waste of our money.
What says “knows best” more than making the discussion of certain topics illegal? I agree that hate vs common sense is subjective, which is a strong reason not to favor broad anti-speech bills like this. Supporting this is just asking for the next Democratic governor to outlaw all kinds of conservative ideas. Whoever happens to be governor at any given moment shouldn’t dictate what ideas are allowed. Why not leave these decisions up to individual school boards?
Then your kids high school had bad administrators. Here are the steps to getting rid of a bad teacher: 1. Don't give them a contract for the next school year. That's the entire how to. There isn't anything more to it than that. It used to be that an adminstrator would have to do an observation, document deficiencies, make a plan with the teacher to provide them opportunities for improvement, do another observation, again document that the deficiencies persist, and then notify them that their lack of improvement meant they weren't going to be teaching at the school next year. Took about two hours in total.
No teeth, other than the schools having to pay the legal fees for frivolous lawsuits and teachers losing their licenses.
If you guys think that rich parents (including liberal politicians) send their kids to private school just because of the kids they’d be surrounded by, and not the quality of education they’ll receive, I’ve got a bridge in Brooklyn I’d like to sell you.
Rich parents send their kids to good schools period, its not about public vs. private. Speaking of Brooklyn, its harder to get into elite public schools in places like NYC than many private schools. The people that only want their kids in private schools are definitely avoiding something if they have good public schools nearby.
It is being extremely exaggerated by the OP. Don't talk politics in school unless it's part of the assigned curriculum. Both sides. Teach the subject. Not that complicated.

They could have done it ten years ago if they wanted to as I've seen it done. The teachers' union in Florida isn't nearly the boogie man some folks think.
