Gator fans will be patient with CBN. I believe he will make any needs adjustments in regards to staff assigments, etc. Year 2 will give. A much clearer picture of his potential as a head coach. What i do know is any program that changes coaches every year or two will fail.

I am willing to wait. Don't forget Saban and Smart both lost multiple games in their first year. I believe we have the right man.

BN is the right guy. He walked into a mess Mullen left. Kirby walked into a team that was winning and had talent. Nick walked into a better situation also but not as good as kirby.

Oh I’m patient. BUT, we will need to see clear, consistent, definite improvement next year on the defensive scheming/execution and the LB play or there will need to be some adjustments post 23 Season.

He seems like a guy who will make staff changes if needed.

CBN seems to be the right guy....We stand zero chance if someone can't recruit coming off mediocre seasons. And he's recruiting really well. If he can hang on to this class (heck, it looks like we'll be closing strong!) then we'll be in good shape IMO. It all hinges on successful recruiting, and he can't have many recruiting misses in his first 3 classes; we're not talented enough today to overcome that.

    Truth.

Some great coaches have done everything right but missed at a few key positions, namely QB, and failed.

Great post. We know this staff can attract great players and so far appears they can close their share of consensus top talent. His assistant coaches will be key. He may have to ditch a guy or two and also change his offensive philosophy. Three yards and a cloud of dust are old school. The 4th and short plays have been miserable. He and his OC probably need some route design schooling from a better offensive mind.

It could all be that our QB is unable to read the field and understand where to find his WRs.

Next year will tell if CBN is able to step outside himself and see what what is reality and what is wishful thinking.

Patient? I've been patient since Meyer left our team.. I'm not going anywhere, and I will not be blubbering for a new coach anytime soon either. But the DC is another subject and the 3-3-5 or the 3-4 BASE DEFENSE or any other failed Grantham style defensive scheme needs to leave Gainesville... NOW.

Knowing his plan is so detailed, I wouldn't be surprised if the "boring" playcalling is intentional, and much like Saban did his first couple of years at Bama. Part of building a solid foundation through discipline and fundamentals.

It'll be interesting to see if/when he hires an OC.

Would have been nothing to install a few 4 and shorts that don't group the defense so close, or makes them pay for doing so, or something better than a damn slant. The slant was simply horrific given the game was on the line and our QB cannot make that pass.

Do you think CBN believes we need a new OC? I thought he is all in with the guy he named OC.

I mention him because Ryan O'Hara coaches the QBs for UF

Ah, so mentioning him on a Florida Gator board would seem relevant. I was not familiar, googled and found a Pat O'Hara QB coach etc from NFL.

So then, if we have a darn good QB coach, what does that seem to say about our QB progression? I just read where some thought if Mullen were still here AR would do better... err, looked better under Mullen. Don't know. Doesn't matter really. If our plays and expectations make sense, AR should get it.
