So I’m at work today talking with one of my patients. We’re discussing the gator season and he asked me… Do you think Georgia will even need their punter? I thought for a minute and said… I honestly don’t know. As much as I hate to say that against my own team. What do you guys really think. If you had to put money on it.
Samford forced 3 punts against Georgia but that seems optimistic for us to replicate since we have no talent ...... Sarcasm alert!
If I was Georgia I would play the last walk-on punter on the depth chart and purposely fail to convert with 4 mins left in the 4th Quarter so that player can have his “Rudy” moment.
If it were up to me, I think they run the ball with a couple of dink throws and maybe punt once or twice. But in the end, the body blows to our defense will make them wilt. The offense won't be able to keep up and the game will end in a whimper. Boring TV for everyone except the UGa fans.
All I can say is thank goodness for Trask, Pitts, Toney, Grimes and company bringing home the big win against them in 2020, or we we'd be looking at a sixth straight loss to those inbreeders in 10 days.
The shame of that is we had so many opportunities to beat them in 18 but got no breaks and the defense did their thing on 3rd down. Franks in particular played poorly. Mullen had a great game plan. In 19 the coaches crapped the bed and the defense again couldn't get off the field when needed.
Ideally we don't want to see our punter in any game... without turnovers too. But we should see the opponents punter often or we should be getting the other team's turnovers.
