Really tough break... but this probably explains bringing in Matharu and Deans both. Hate to see it, but we definitely have the talent and depth at the guard spots to help absorb her loss at least.

I think this is pretty accurate... I can see us anywhere in the 4-7 range SEC wise. I'd have Arkansas a bit lower and A&M a bit higher. Not 100% sold that Ole Miss doesn't slip a bit without Austin. I would have had Vandy up a few BUT they have lost 3 to season ending injuries already...ouch.
well from the highlights it looks like it was 33-28 at the half State..which already makes it much more competitive then the last time we played.
Probably not the list you want to be on: This year's roster has 6 players listed as either seniors or grad students. However, given the Covid add year it is not at all clear who is eligible and/or wants to come back for a 6th year? So by my count there may be anywhere between 1 to 6 scholarships available for this recruiting cycle. Finley has hit the transfer portal effectively so perhaps that is the focus this cycle?
We should have a minimum of 2...Unless Zippy comes back again but that seems highly unlikely. Love what we did in the portal, BUT we really need to bring in some young talent. We are unbalanced with the bulk of our talent having 1 or 2 yrs left. If we are going to go the transfer route I hope we get some players with 3 years remaining. Regardless, high school recruiting definitely needs some work. We haven't had a commitment there in way too long. It will be interesting how many open scholarships we actually have. I honestly have no clue what the plan is with so many seniors, guards in particular.
Any idea why? The players seem to love her, look like they are having fun on the court, and winning. Can’t figure out why recruiting would fall off when we had such a big coaching upgrade.
Who knows... she could just only have one or two ships available and holding out for a big announcement. FULWILEY would be a huge pickup, but tough to get away from USC. Could be a recruiting issue or that high schoolers just aren't sold yet. Truthfully all teams look happy go lucky in the videos you will see posted. I do think the class is a bit concerning atm mainly because we are so unbalanced with the talent on the roster. Just puts more pressure to have a great season because the 2024 class will need to be amazing... By then... No Zippy, Nina, Faith, KK, Leilani, Aliyah, and probably no Jordyn or Rashaya. Not counting any transfers out which almost always will be at least 1 or 2. Wait and see mode. If it happens twice (still not a done deal yet this year though) then we probably have some red flags.
