You have to admire Napier's patience in developing Richardson instead of listening to us & starting Kitna as well as AR himself for working to become more consistent. Previously with AR when the wheels fell off, his entire game went to crap. It seems that our best offensive performances occur when AR's Passer Rating (PR) achieves a sufficiently high level, say >125 (e.g. Missouri was abysmal offensively even though the QBR was okay). PR is calculated from aggregate statistics to give a pure interpretation of passing ability. ESPN's QBR analyzes each play a quarterback is involved in, e.g. sacks, fumbles, designed runs, scrambles & puts those into context.
In other threads, I use the words "bold" and "convicted", as well as "oblivious" and "naive". He is playing with fire with this group of fans, IMO. We won against Utah and we lost against Kentucky. Missouri was Missourable by his play. What if his "conviction" ended in a loss? Are we still using the first two words instead of the last two?
Missouri has the #23 total defense in the nation... Kentucky has the #14 total defense in the nation... Both of these teams are pretty good on defense. Our total defense is ranked #106 NCAA College Football FBS current team Stats | NCAA.com
Ah yes, we would all remember this after we lost against Missouri. How shallow of me. You must be new around here.
I hope we run, run, and run some more. If we’re inside the 50, go for it on 4th down. Slow the game down by running to keep the score down.
If I remember, didn't it take a Georgia run late in the game to beat Missouri just the week before? I think Missouri's defense held Georgia to by far their lowest offensive output all season.
I like those terms to describe his play. I think he was more even-keeled for LSU, where he seemed to have a pretty decent game that I didn't really notice at the time. Get him to play like that with improvement over time & he'll become very good.
Lol 8-14 for 66 yds plus 231 team rushing yds it could be successfully argued mizz is so good because they played us. a mere extra 100 yds passing drops mizz to 36 the same added to Uk only moved them to #20 both very respectable rankings this far into the season. Current rankings anywhere near these two teams for uf would likely have us undefeated and in the top 5, one can dream
Actually, I was using these in describing Napier and the QB situation. As I said, he is playing with fire and this fan base.
He probably had a big head when we went good on good and he was torching our D with that non-contact jersey.
Not the point of my post. The OP was making the point about the strength of teams defense we had already played I was pointing out their rank was partially because they played us especially mizz
Not with standing if we had only passed for 100 more yds a modest total of 166 it would have dropped them into the 40s still very respectable, compared to us elite
I think Auburn had even fewer yards than we did. Mizzou has a stout defense, particularly against the rush.
I have confidence in AR's running ability but he needs to pass more effectively in order to score points. However unless the defense wakes up we'll be hard pressed to win six games,
The league loves them some measurables. He’s a long way from being a quality league QB, imho. 2023 NFL Mock Draft: Packers land talented tight end, Chiefs get pass-rushing stud to pair with Chris Jones
The league can see how limited our offensive scheme is. He is often forced to make tight window throws while on the move. Not easy. The thing AR struggles at is turning his back. At that point his reads are slower. Generally his reads and ball placement is pretty good.
