I was happy to get Braun's commitment and am thankful for his contributions to the UF program. He never established himself as a starter and has effectively been replaced as 2nd-team OG or OT by Leonard and Barber. Cannot blame him if he looks for playing time elsewhere.
That's what we say now but it's a cycle that keeps reappearing. It doesn't make sense to me, the "as soon as our staff gets 'their' players in here we will rise to the top"
I still want a couple more OL recruits for balance and future depth, but looking at the roster, it's not that bad. Without Braun we still have 8 that could start, 2 more that are listed in the depth chart as good enough to back up, so 10 there. And about 5 more that hopefully develop into contributors, so 15 is solid. Plus, only 3 are Jrs, 5sophs, 7fr. Hope Gouraige and O'Cyrus don't leave, but there's depth. It seems the 2 OL coaches are doing a great job here.
Ya-know I wasn't hot to trot to replace Dan M until later in the season as things completely fell apart but, man, more and more evidence seems to suggest that it was absolutely imperative for him to leave. It just seems that the perception gets worse and worse. what was he doing??
Answer: He's actually pretty good. Joking aside -- Like you, I wanted Mullen to stay. But after the truth was revealed, I'm glad he's gone and we have Napier. He needs two more recruiting cycles (2023 and 2024) to get our roster where it needs to be able to compete with the top teams.
Drawing a paycheck and living in the fantasy world of his own mind, where he could out scheme everyone else. NOT.
It either happens or it doesn’t. Nape needs our support. I’m behind him and in wait and see mode. Sure I question some things but he gets the benefit of the doubt. He’s the expert, not me. Or he gets fired with a bid ass check. I like the world he lives in.
That's during the "Won't back down" song, he's just singing but kind of seems like he wants to cry. Looks like the part of the song "There's no easy way out". Probably emotional for dad to watch and now this news, or maybe they were already thinking about it, who knows. We're deep enough fortunately, good luck to him.
He didn’t make the cut. He’s pretty good and we want him to be a gator. It just might be best for him to find an opportunity. He has a shot at Sundays.
