You know what I don't like... It's the transfer portal made quitters out of so many players in college. I don't mind that these players have a way to go to another team, it's that they announce it on Twitter so the whole world sees it... as if they're advertising their services... or that they need sympathy for their decision to quit on their teammates in the middle of the season.

I get wanting to leave, but the announcements on media platforms in season is distasteful to me.

Nice insights Bobby. So now one might ask, did we really take him from UGA?

the only reason he left UGA class and committed to UF is because Sam Pittman left for Arky. Without that happening, he would never have been a Gator

Cosign this whole post. My only “issue” is that with this staff and the last staff there seems to be inconsistent accountability being displayed with certain players.

Everyone in our secondary who starts have been starters since they were true freshmen and yet they have continued to make the same mistakes they did as true freshmen under the previous staff but yet they continue to get the bulk of the snaps.

Yes we obviously don’t know their assignments or the D call on a particular play but unless teams this year just so happen to make the right play call 90% of the time (im exaggerating obviously lol) on 3rd down and converts it, at some point when do you try something different?

When you’re last in 3rd down D and nothing seems to really be changing scheme or personal wise, it’s HAAAAARD to remember that this is year 1 for the staff dealing with a lot players we as fans have been critical of even under the old staff.

Oh I agree! It's definitely hard not knowing the reasons and just "trusting" the staff when you see 0 for example. Can it really be worse with someone else? I've read Kamari does have a lower grade, and maybe they're afraid that instead of learning from mistakes they hurt his psyche and natural instincts by playing him before he's ready. Crazy stuff, I just choose to trust the staff at least through year 2 lol.

I agree and i think i have such high expectations for this staff going forward that I gotta remember we ALL knew before the year this not a CFP level team. I know expectations change as the games get played but CBN said from jump this is a PROCESS and has been just that.

We want to replicate what Mullen did record wise in 2018 in his first season here but as we saw, he eventually crashed and burned. I’m frustrated at times watching the games but I am in it with this staff for the long haul.

Look at the current true freshmen….the ones that we were hoping come in and contribute day one (our top 5 rated recruits according to 247) have in-fact done that. All of our portal transfers this year are contributors except Waites and Jack Miller and with how the OL developing, im ok with them being patient with Waites. The staff have an eye for current talent if you look at who they have brought in and are anticipating signing with us

And we need a few of those. MLB’s are a different breed and talent isn’t number one trait.

Lots of physical talent there but knowing what to do and being in the right place at the right time is not physical talent.

Depends on the qb , if we don’t find a good one, it’ll be hard. We won’t be able to win with Stetson Bennet, it’ll probably take a little more. New coaches don’t get too many shots at signing the transcendent qb. Napes had one, about to sign another and I’d the guy next year is coming fast. One of them better be that guy.

I thought this was funny (timeline from bottom to top):

    Plus, Clemson has "moved on."

I wouldn't either, but his wanting to preserve his redshirt suggests he thinks he has two years of starting in him. He might want to step down a level then to assure that. I am afraid his dad sees him as something he has not been.

It means he thinks he has two years of playing. Preserving your redshirt is smart regardless if you think youre a starter or not

As long as he plays, he has a chance to develop and prove himself.. nothing comes from sitting his time away.

Yep. Doesn’t affect me at all that he’s leaving. The immediate O line turnaround makes me trust in our O line staff. He will be replaced, I wish him luck.

He's listed as a sophomore so he would have 3 more years to play as a rs soph. Got 2020 season taken away already.
