I bet either Katie or Bree could’ve written that out on a napkin. LOL! They are just that good.

I previously said “he’d be gone tomorrow” obviously I jumped the gun with that comment. He’s a gator, good luck kid. Wish him the best.

The same people that probably told AR to change his nickname wrote that for Jackson. He may have directed it at LSU, but he definitely didn’t write that.

My initial reaction was it was directed toward UF, then Ithought it could very well be directed at LSU.

No - but that’s not the writing of a 19 year old college football player.

    - not like that. I’m sure he told them his general sentiments and they polished it up for him. When is the last time you heard a current college football player use the term gridiron?

So what’s your issue? A college kid got some polish for his general sentiments? Just needed to point that out?

I can't recall off the top of my head. But there are 10,000 current college football players, I'd imagine a good number of them have used the term before, especially considering that's a term that's common in football lexicon.

These posts are so amazingly tone deaf I almost took them down but want you to see and recognize what you're saying and how insulting that is to the kid. I knew plenty of people in college who could have easily written that. Some in high school. How do you know he didn't go through Honors English in high school?

I would only add that he is "progressing" to this position. Not that it is a good thing, just that he wasn't doing "Emory-esque" things before. I have to think he is finding out that being The Man is harder on him emotionally than he imagined.

So, when is he sufficiently vetted and Napier needs to try Plan B at QB? As I posted before, it may come at the beginning of UGa (because he has a flat tire, and a AR that is sort of stationary is a VERY tenuous idea) or perhaps at the first series of the second half if he is still doing unfortunate things.

You know the definition of insanity.

As a former high school counselor, and had many football players and athletes that I worked with on a daily basis..you should see some of the wonderful essays these young men and women write..many take honors and AP classes..just because they are football players doesn't make them ignorant or without writing and communication skills..many have high GPAs, great SAT/ACT scores.and take rigorous courses..and got accepted to many prestigious universities such as UF :)

Ah, the old "I got caught up on social media" defense.

Hopefully he learns from this and grows up.

I wasn't sure I was going to get into this morass, but you gave me an opening I can live with. IMHO, no one knows what is the makeup of any person and it is prejudicial (no, not racist). But that kind of ends once that person begins to go into public mode. What I mean is, we all have "potential" up until we are put in the line of fire (of any kind). THEN we have a history. And if that history has a pretty good record of performance, we can feel mainly confident as to what makes that person tick in a particular situation. Call it "modelling on a social level." Not that we can't progress (or digress) based on maturity and new kinds of events, just that we have an idea of their personality makeup.

Unless "those folks" who have given him NO credit to have a functioning brain has better information than I do (ie, they follow him on twitter or whatnot) then I would say "you are prejudiced against a UF player and that is bad against a rival but shameful against 'one of yours' ". And to that, I would also say (as I have on other threads), please get away from UF football and these kinds of forums for a while. You are too emotionally connected to the fits and starts of the program for your own wellbeing. What I should have said then, and I will do it here (whether they like it or not), it is like a young child who had gotten really tired but is too wound up to stop. The parent has to give them a sort of time out and they usually give one great outburst right before they fall fast asleep. I am presuming "those folks" are independent and so they have to give themselves their own time outs.

Now, please understand that a football player can in many instances be a powerful body with a limited mind - the zigs and zags of Jameis Winston immediately comes to mind - but unless they have a history (like Winston has/had) and what happens today looks WAY different (ie, what he "said" after the crablegs incident) than that history, THEN we can say with some level of confidence that the cleanup effort was not the efforts of the elephant but rather the assistant that walks behind the elephant.

So, for the summary (if you didn't read it all): stop being so damn petulant if you have a functioning brain or give yourself time away from UF football (since your parents can't) if that is required. It is just plain silly.

I'm still puzzled by a couple of things. First, KJ took the image of himself from his locker and put the words on it he did. Second, the time stamp on this tweet was 11:38 pm, which was AFTER the game. I don't hold anything these kids post on social media against them as they are just kids, but I'm just not buying the "post was meant to rally up my teammates" part.
