I owe Trey Dean and the defense an apology. I castigate them for their play and they’re not getting paid. They are hoping to one day get paid and they have chosen our university to provide themselves that opportunity as well as giving us their commitment to do their best. Even though we do our absolute best sometimes it just simply good enough or someone is better at it. The fact remains they are trying they aren’t quitting. (Urban Meyer) They haven’t given up, they’re practicing and they’re out on the battlefield and we are just observers. Give them that !!!!! Go Gators

Not getting paid? Even NIL aside, think of the value of what they receive in education, food, housing, books, "cost of attendance" payments, medical care, nutrition, tutoring, expert coaching, all kinds of "preferential treatment." The list goes on. What would most of these guys be doing if they couldn't play football well enough to get a scholarship.
I'm not sure how it is now, but in the past a lot of football kids were not the best academically, so I'd rank the tutoring a Godsend for most of these kids. And worth our cost of their free admission. Their situation is pretty cushy the way I see it. Go Gators.
It’s exactly why I have learned to stay away from game threads - especially when things are going bad for us. I’ve been banned from more than one game thread in the past - and deserved it. I also used to throw shit and have been kicked out of more than one bar watching our Gators (1996 in Tallahassee and The Swindle). It ain’t easy being a Gator fan
Yep, no more game threads for me... unless we start winning big. Then I just jump right on in and "force my opinion" upon you unsuspecting fans... Lol.
I think it takes a big person to self-reflect and write something like this. Also the prior thread @gatornation1173 started. Thanks! We are all passionate Gator fans (well, 99.9% of us) so this could have been many. @Skink's post is also very helpful. I've gotten very angry when my grandchildren weren't here to hear some of the things I said. LOL! OGTs (Game Threads) this year have been anywhere from good to very bad. It's a shame that older, long-time Gators are avoiding the OGTs. I wanted everyone to know that. I've read posts and received PMs. I wish @Gatorrick22 and others would come back and commiserate and celebrate with us . . . and when it gets too frustrating just walk away for a few minutes. It's more fun when we have a good group in the OGT . . . and I see 2 pages fly by with TD!!!!!
