That's my point, I think they are lining up too far back. I wish we played the bump and run scheme with our DBs. Lie the old days during our 2007 Championship year. Yeah, we have all pro type DB and Safeties, but it was less complicated than some of the stuff they are trying to run now. It was more skill and less scheme.
I highly doubt BN is making any adjustments to staff before ESD there are tactical and strategic objectives at play. There is a road to signing the class we have committed with close losses and the real possibility of immediate PT for incoming frosh. yes negative recruiting is possible but BN can sell his vision and the fact he gave time to both players and coaches flipping and firing people midstream is going to look desperate The product is numbing to watch but I understand the number crunch we are under between DL and LB the other aspect we aren’t privy to is coaches meetings what is said, what is acknowledged, what do they feel is the issue. I promise you having been in these types meetings there is clarity of circumstance and BN isn’t airing out anyone player or coach to extract the pound of flesh publicly to soothe the masses
Offensive evolution dictates skill and scheme. Unfortunately it isn’t 2007 or 1990 anymore. Even bama can’t keep a lid on scoring machines. One issue we have is we don’t throw the ball well therefore we aren’t going to give a good scout look vs. passing teams. This is why we do well on 1-2 downs more run orientated downs

Firing defensive staff right now will do NO GOOD. And yes, this defense is atrocious. We have to go back to the drawing board this bye week and overhaul the scheme and players running it on the field. And if we improve, so be it. And if we get even worse, so be it. When the season is over, yeah, take the gloves off on staff that cannot coach up the players. Then, recruit, recruit, recruit. One good thing in this absolutely horrific defensive year......those defensive recruits in the 23 class are going to have a GREAT chance of seeing meaningful snaps from game 1 in Utah on. And that will not be affected if Dexter, Marshall, Cox and Miller all come back (no, Miller is not coming back, just adding some humor).
That’s optimistic, but I’m open to that. Their ASU transfer QB played better than our QB. Their WRs are definitely better than our WRs. it’s so disheartening as LSU fans will be the first to tell you they had to scramble for transfers to put a team together. I think they did a better job in the portal than we did if I’m being honest.
Fsu, msu, auburn, tenn…all averaged 9 Ypc against lsu. Ours? 15 yards per catch. Something isn’t right. I think it’s players, but I’m still hoping it’s bad habits rather than coaching/scheming
Shoot, it’s all 11. Front 4 can’t win 1-1s or set the edge (with regularity), LBs (minus miller) are lost, and every DB has coverage issues.
I can take it if they improve. If they don't - I'll be worried about the future. I don't know why they are so awful but they have been awful for awhile. I'll give the coaches a chance to fix it.
