    Hypocritical? Certainly.

Odd? To the contrary, at this point, it's only odd when someone in the party actually calls it out.

Hey, people can be terrible human beings, sure, but then they can always "find the Lord" and change their ways when it becomes convenient.

But large holes in ears? Those last forever, man.

You guys continue to overlook how absurd most of the left ideas look to normal people.

And you're willing to support possibly the least competent candidate running for the Senate because he represents your side. My personal views are slightly to the left of center. Hypothetically speaking if a competent conservative Republican were running against Ilhan Omar I would vote for the Pub every time. There's no way that woman should be in Congress.

I must not be normal. I want people of intelligence and integrity representing the people of this country.

huge holes in their ears?? Girls have gotten ear piercings for decades. And if it’s earlets (gauge earrings) and tats, that’s the fad for many. electing trump-follower types will not change the culture and fads regardless how many “stop W.O.K.E.” bills their leaders push.

Its ironic trump politicians promote culture wars “for the children” to rally followers on issues that have little to no influence on children. But their followers still go for it hook, line, and sinker. there are real world issues our gov can help kids and their future well-being. i.e. available clean water, pollution, gun violence, quality of life from poorly planned communities, women’s equality, access to affordable health care, a functioning democracy. Of course we know where maga falls on those issues. Issues that would actually have real world impacts on children. But they require logical tough decisions vs raw emotion of culture wars.

Some of the ideas on the radical Left are indeed absurd. Some of the ideas on the radical Right, however, are, in my opinion, dangerous. And not in an alternate lifestyle way, but in a violent, overthrow-the-government way.

Right? I'm not holding my breath for the next Thomas Jefferson, but I'd like my leaders to be at least as intelligent and articulate as I am (not a particularly high bar.)

I stopped after I read something about Trump. Seems that you lump everything con into maga and trump. I don’t know what to say.

How about say “good point, I’ll stop blindly following the latest shinny marble of culture wars”.

I think you do make good points. I just don’t understand the extreme infatuation with trump. I do not ever think of him.

That’s a reasonable hope but futile for an irrational political system.

I don’t refer to them all as republican as there are good repubs that are now “rinos” and vilified. And believe it or not out of respect for “rinos” on this board. I voted for McCain who was and still is absolutely trashed by maga. And He was the repub nom for potus so not like I’m coming out of left field supporting him.

Trump is king maker for most of these candidates running for congress. He calls this a movement, is the most influential person in repub party and still has best odds to win rep nom for 2024 presidential contest. And I consider him & maga politicians dangerous to our democracy.

True. Isn't that when the Tea party starting protesting and disguising themselves as Republicans in order to get him out of office? That would be the beginning

Oh, I think they were Republicans. They just pretended to be concerned about the budget and the deficit
