Gatorrick22- this is no time for accurate statistical data. It skews the reality for those of us that are trying to find the some good and silver lining while all indicators point in another direction!:rolleyes:o_O:p

Yesterday, none of my best Gator gear made any difference in the outcome of the game. I guess we can use the all orange unis again.

"All I need is this chair...":D

    Go Gators.:)

There were some good things that happened for the Gators in that game... AR's 81 yard run for a Touchdown was great.

Etienne's kick off return for about 50 yards was refreshing too...

That second play from scrimmage was a beautiful pass by AR for a near 50 yard touchdown.

There were two bad penalties that crushed our momentum, and one that killed a possible game changing INT.

That roughing the passer killed our slightest chance we had to come back. I was deflated after that too.

I have no idea what this thread is about

The facts are the D is awful. We don’t know how to play zone and leave wide open windows. This leads us to the worst 3rd down D in the nation

Offense is better. Run game is elite. Passing game concepts are high school level

Those are just facts. CBN is paid the big bucks to fix it

If he doesn’t fix it he won’t last. That’s also a fact

I was deflated after they just walked down the field after half and scored like we didnt just take a 20 minute break and talk about anything. I just wanted them to fight until the last whistle and make it respectable at that point, which they did. There is no quit in this team, that is a positive.

    Omnipresent

I don’t understand, why human nature is to see things as binary… This is not an either or situation… This is largely talent, your Senate defense of line, you can’t rotate guys in and out, you don’t get the right pressure, so you make coaching adjustments to protect your players from getting burnt… And then that comes back to bite you. This is both coaching and talent but it’s coaching because of the talent. Stevens will look totally different when you have depth and speed and five star dude and can play a lot more aggressive… Now, I would argue they should be playing more aggressive anyway, and just take their chances…

    1. I’m not sure we have the athletes we think we have to run the schemes coaches want to run. I’m not going to point fingers at players.. but coaches may be handcuffed a bit with what ingredients they have to cook with. Not enough Dline, not enough talent in other areas, lots of heart and hustle.. maybe not enough raw ability…
Just my thought. This goes for offense and defense.
    2. We see improvement in Offense. AR is progressing, growing. He was the neglected child the last few years. It’s going to take time to get him up to speed.
This might also play into the passing routes…
    3. Recruiting…Dabo, Smart, Day, Jimbi… none are top tier coaches. All are top tier recruiters. Being a top tier recruiter can cover a lot of sins…

Napier is not a systems coach.. I did not expect a quick fix turnaround. He is starting from the bottom and building up. T will take time but my hope is he builds a PROGRAM not a team. One where we reload year after year after year with top end players.

Keep the few good defensive players we have, bench the rest and play underclassmen, get them experience for next year.

Recruiting is much better, facilities have ascended into elite status, there are far less penalties and everyone hustles. And how many arrests, bar fights or sexual assault accusations have we’ve seen since he’s been here? ZERO. CBN has accomplished a ton, in less than a year …and much of it is the stuff this fan base has been bitching about for over a decade. But he didn’t fire his DC after week 5 …so some are now saying he’s in over his head? Ridiculous.

I’ll sit back and let him continue to play his chess match while the toxic half of this fan base keeps playing checkers.

I’m ok if we lose the toxic half of the van base. It’s ridiculous. Damn Alabama didn’t fire saban after his lost to see Louisiana for girls his first year. Kirby smart looked like a lost puppy his first year (many many of us made fun of the dogs for hiring him..) Clemson took HEAT for hiring Dabo. But yeah… 1/2 through the first season of what we all knew and KNOW is a complete tear down and rebuild and some want to start complaining we aren’t moving fast enough. Go hire high freeze or Lane Kiffin… they will move fast enough for you but there will not be any prolonged success. Flash in a pan is all some of you want. Oooo pretty fireworks… give a program builder and I’ll wait patiently for the rewards to come in.
