Man... the other sites are burning brightly and crisply. The venting is getting to the point of crazy. I will save you all from the details of it.

I think it will depend on the spring game and anyone who can give him pause. He isn't Mullen...I think.

I might have to watch the game again. I really do think we need these DL that are coming in the 2023 class... more than I originally thought. And the LB/DBs are needed too.

That every single db is lined up past the first down marker?

I keep thinking Mullen, first with Franks, then with Emory Jones. Basically it took an injury to play Trask. It's like BN will reward AR for sticking around another year hoping he will turn out to be Patrick M's

Oh I understand, blind people are commenting on our defense. There are two players lined up past the first down marker and they're just past the sticks. You may not be aware that players can move forward beyond where they've lined up. This is everything people claim to want. We have seven near the line which presumably would be considered an example of the fabled "aggressive play call." It appears we are playing man even though I've been informed that our coaches use stinky soft zone from the sun belt. It appears we're in cover zero which is confusing since I'm told we are terrified of getting beat over the top. I guess if we're not in cover zero with press man on every play the DC is a moron?

Maybe this all changes post snap, but from the look shown here... y'all trippin.

I believe the analogy is, when you smell a new stink (allegedly) you think it worse than the last stink. Less bad is considered better.

Too bad too many of us have an aversion to cleaning up the smell from the last coach.

Not every situation is a repeat of a previous Gator situation.

This team got out-talented. They play with spirit; and they don’t quit. That’s reflective of good coaching. Being out-talented during his first year is, as others have pointed out, reflective of prior coaches’ failings, not Coach Napier’s and his staff’s. If the Gators are in a similar situation two years from now, then yes, it’ll be reflective of Napier and his staff. The evidence so far, though, is that Coach Napier and his staff are addressing the talent issue very quickly and very effectively. Let’s see where things are this time next year. In the meantime, anyone not expecting this season to be rocky had/has very unrealistic expectations.

Fair enough but I think people
Are underestimating how bad this roster is.

I just remembered that there were some positives in the game. One in particular was Etienne returning kick-offs and doing it well.

Hate losing but still like what Napier is doing, he just needs more players and a couple of stud receivers. It's his first year in the SEC and has a talented but relatively inexperienced QB. Worst of all is our pass defense. LSU QB had the game of his life and his receivers were excellent.

That 81 yard touchdown run by AR was a thing of beauty...

    I had one also.

I am positive that this defense isn't going to be a real asset for the remainder of the season.

Two completely past it, one straddling it, and one standing barely in front of it. Doesn’t change the point. All of them way too far away from the play, as evidenced by the fact that this play was converted into a first down, AGAIN.

Yes, they can move up, but you’re giving them the line to gain from the jump. You say they can move up . You may not realize it it, but it’s probably best to not have your db’s going in the opposite direction of the receiver at the snap of the play. Have them play up and jam them at the line. Disrupt routes. Don’t just wait back and hope you can keep them in front of the sticks where you are standing flat footed. It doesn’t work. Being last in the nation in 3rd down defense should be enough evidence to support this argument.

I like Napier and he needs some time to get the stank out of the system that the last guy left behind. But I would like to see CBN clean up the timeouts thing and commit to scoring no matter how many time-outs the other team has left in the first half.

He'll straighten that out., That's in NO way a deal breaker. He also has to get the open field tackling fixed and figure out how to line up our DBs on 3rd and 8... or more.

You’re right. This strategy is obviously working very well. That’s why we are dead last in the nation in third down defense. Dead last.
