    Actions speak louder than words.

We press them at the end there, you can make a positive spin on negative result.

If we play not to lose ... that is hard to spin.

Two groups of people after an atrocious game ...

    (1) long-suffering fans taking the occasion to vent

    (2) people who feel the need to smother ventilation

I wanted to read and comment on the remainder of the thread but ran out of time. So to my take.

I said I believe right after the Utah game (although it could have been after Kentucky), we have two avenues to win a game (and I mean win and not for the other team to be BAD and lose it) and that is 1) AR to be transcendent or 2) we win the turnover battle. Obviously I am not talking about the EWs of the world, but it IS apropos against a damn bad USF team.

AR was inconsistent and only transcendent on that one run so strike 1. No turnovers and so strike 2. Did LSU attempt to lose the game? Not last night, and so strike 3. It is what it is.

And to my ultimate take: we are still on track for a 50-50 season. We WILL lose against UGa. And to me, we should be ALL IN in winning the FSU game, which is the only true "must win" game. Time to get as many future players who can play and not be scared (or scarred) as we can up until FSU. The remainder games are anyone's guess and will likely split, just because that is who we are.

I can see a scenario where AR is either a scratch for UGa because his wheel is flat, or Kitna comes in at the first offensive series in the second half. This season is ALL about getting ready for 2023. Again, it is what it is.

As for how simplistic our schemes are…you have to learn to crawl before you learn to walk. And y’all talking about running like Jeff Demps. We ain’t there yet.

Our players are saying they don’t have to think as much and just play out there compared to Grantham's defense. We are limited by what they can process right now unfortunately.

The point about Bama and UT isn’t to say it’s a moral victory. The point is that even with a defensive genius in Saban and all the 5-stars on Bama’s D, our defense out-performed theirs vs UT. How do you reconcile that?

I think you are missing my point here ... and that is probably on me.

But I saw a coach that either 1) didn't understand clock management or 2) was afraid of something bad happening. There really is no other way to explain it.

I'm going to give Napier the benefit of the doubt and say that he understands clock management. So that leaves playing not to lose.

Well, to be fair when we don't give a cushion we get beat. Damned either way.

I'm more upset that we didn't try. Have seen this too often at Florida in recent years. If we give up a pick 6, I'm fine. Not happy but fine. That's just too much time to piss away

Bring on Kitna, we would see an improvement in offensive production.

I think we are in agreement here. I wanted more of a two minute drill and trust his players even if it didn't work out.

Scared money don’t make money. Billy cosched scared, we lost. Quintessential personification of his own words.

He calls it complimentary football. It’s not coaching scared, it’s coaching smart. We needed to help our defense with our offense. It just didn’t work out.

Can we stop comparing every new hire with a bad first year to Saban? Just stop.

Very unimpressed with the coaching staff at this point in season. Play calling predictable and boring, game clock management among the worst I've seen and the Defense beyond comment. This game to me was a crossroads game as both teams had first year coaches and are in "rebuilding" mode. I gave the edge to Gators as home team.... Clearly, Kelly outcoached Napier and better prepared his team with a far better game plan. Toney is a disaster in seems even worse than Grantham. 6-6 with luck.

Please stop asking for the current defensive coordinator of a monster NFL defense to return as DC for the Gators. It isn't happening and makes us look a little silly. He coached here 2 years and has no other ties to the program that I know of. He is an awesome coordinator though.
