Not certain he was under the instructions of the coaches or protecting an injury, but repeated sliding at the first sign of contact, seemed IMHO to take away from Richardson's overall rhythm including his decision making and passing.

The guy we saw on the 81 yard run, including the somersault into the end zone, is the guy who needs to play like that all the time if we want to spring some upsets in the second half of the year.

Agree but this isn’t on AR. Why no zone reads with AR option to keep?

He limps every time he gets hit in the lower body. He gets hit in the lower body every game.

    Connect the dots.

Sometimes I think AR "thinks" too much..and not in a good way either..he hasn't played loose and natural..is hard on himself

While Richardson is ‘what we have’ for now, what we are seeing is the results of an O that needs, depends upon a running QB to make it effective. Optimally, we need an O and a Qb that is a gun slinger who hands the ball off to the guys that can take the pounding when they carry the rock. These need to be blocked for by a line that is capable of protecting and providing running lanes. We will see what kind of athletes Billy recruits and where this O goes over the next couple of years.

Protecting his NFL draft chances. He isn’t ready, but anything in the first 4 rounds and he gone.

    Coaching-

“Anthony your the best athlete on the field”, even if the DE plays you to keep you are still better than him. We need the ball in your hands-we need you you run the ball”.
I mean I’m not sure how different that can be said. But…he’s not keeping on zone read. Not on AR. Coaches dictate points of emphasis.

It was not surprising how LSU immediately backed off the stacked front after AR busted them on the long run...not sure why our coaches cant game plan us out of a stacked line. Its not that hard.

He is being coached to slide. Don't take unnecessary hits. Get the 1st down and keep the chains moving.

NFL draft chances… His draft options have dropped off a cliff. He hasn’t demonstrated he can play the position at an elite level…in fact its gone the opposite direction. If he thinks he is protecting his NFL draft chances then he is really doing himself a disservice!

To me..his is uncertain and hasn't the cool calm demeanor of a star QB..like a Trask..Trask wasn't all that vocal...but never let a mistake play on him...seemed very sure and confident..AR not so much..I like him..and support him..he has the physical talent..but mentally and emotionally..he needs to grow and adjust

    I don’t disagree.

I don’t think Richardson is ready.

I do however know two facts:

    1. Richardson is dripping with athleticism and measurables, and NFL higher-ups are known to overlook just about anything in favor of measurables. See exhibit 1 Jamarcus Russell.

    2. Richardson is prone to lower body injuries, and he knows this.

If anyone in the NFL is willing to take a chance in the first 4 rounds due to those measurables, I believe he jumps.

I don't think he knows where his WRs are supposed to be on plays- can't find them. That might be part of the reason for the lateral passes.
Not an NFL QB. Lots of athletic skill but not the mental skills for a QB. The slant? I want to slam our coaches for calling that but it shows just how he is mentally. Has the arm, can't coordinate his mind and his touch. The bomb? Anyone with an arm can throw the pass and occasionally a WR will make the grab.

He avoids contact and may be more brittle than we realize. And he may be saving himself for first round NFL money.

Tebow was a hammer. Embraced contact. AR is a finesse runner.

The passing game is still not good. The last series down by 10 was atrocious. LSU was playing a deep prevent with most of the field open in front. UF ran 7 plays, completed one pass for 4yds, turned the ball over on downs. Just pitiful. Is he really getting better??

lolwut? You say how simple it is to tell him what to do, and your conclusion is the coaches just haven't told him? No agency for the QB to make good decisions?

Just saw Mahommes run, cross the 1st down line and slide. Could have gotten a few more yards.

    Sliding is being coached.

Sure, sliding is being coached. And sliding is good in a lot of situations. I think 15's decision making is questionable in a lot of areas, sliding being one of them. Doesn't have a great feel for attacking and getting what he can and then getting down.
