I think our 3rd down defense could be just a bit better...but hey what do I know.

 

What a pathetic performance again. How many times have we said that this season? UK, USF, tonight....

 

The penalty changed the game. But our defense looks like JV football

 

Kelly definitely showing better results as a 1st year coach.

UGA will score 50 or more on UF
Ole Miss will score 70 on LSU

 

Defense is so bad. The scheme, the calls, the players. It’s all bad. All that said, the refs wipe out the interception that gives us the chance to send the game to overtime or go for 2 for the win.

 

Drop to 1-3 in the conference with mighty UGA coming up. UGA can name their score against this horrendous defense.

 

Are we looking as ragged, if not more ragged than the team that was thought to have quit on Mullen last year ? And if so, how is that even possible ?

 

I cannot remember when our defense gave up 6 touchdowns in the first six possessions- none of which resulted from a turnover by our offense.

people can blame Mullen all they want and there is no question that we can get better caliber players, but Mullen had a lot of these same guys who were younger and less experienced and this did not happen!

 

Kelly should. His team had better recruiting before he got there, he has almost 20 years of coaching experience on Billy, and he has many years of big time football head coaching experience. I’m still all in on our head coach. Our DC, well……

 

Thus far I'm not impressed with Napier.

 

Defense is Awesome

 

Here it goes:

This loss is on the coaches and the Defense.

I cannot wait until all Mullen/Grantham defensive recruits depart.

Billy needs to re-think Patrick Toney at DC.

BullGators, be ready to shell out $2-3 million a year for elite coordinators.

We will lose the next 2 games. We will be 4-5 after college station. Each game will be a nailbitter and it will take a near miracle for us to finish 7-5. Better thance of finishing 5-7 than 7-5. I will call it an even split and we finish 6-6. Napier’s job is safe barring a McYellowHorseTeeth death threat scenario, but if he hopes to have a successful tenure at UF, 6-6 in the first year is REALLY BAD optics. He doesn’t have Saban’s reputation/NC at LSU to make folks overlook that in the first season.

And finally BullGators, make Stricklin unequivocally aware that his fate rests with Napier’s. No AD at a major program survives two failed football HC hires in a row. You don’t get unlimited bites of the apple, much less unlimited apples. This is it for Stricklin. For him to continue as UF AD, Napier MUST win. He must do all he can to ensure that happens. No amount of fundraising or sweet-talking can save him if Napier tanks.

 

The difference between UF and LSU is they will go big game fishing for coaches. They won’t hire a coach unless they have P5 head coaching experience. We dig into the G5 conferences or coordinators hoping it will work out.

 

Well I don't see another win until Vandy and I'm starting to call that a 50/50 game. Probably looking at 5-7 with a possibility of finishing 6-6. 7-5 is off the table now. Unless a miracle occurs on defense and AR plays like Hooker.

I think Billy should consider pulling the trigger this offseason. Hire a stud DC with HBC experience

Billy Donovan did this with Larry Shyatt and it changed the course of the program.

Geoff Collins would probably take the first plane down.

We have a great young HBC, but he doesnt need a young staff to boot.
