It sounds like Caglionone is playing first now so he is throwing but is he able to pitch yet as well? In short, is he still rehabbing his arm injury?

Apparently the schedule isn't always correct.

I assume this might be the same as Natty's post above (all I'm seeing is a blue birdie) but Coppola's arm looks way better developed than last year. Here's hoping his back looks equally the same. Either way this photo from yesterday is proof that Coppola is back on the mound.

My guess, number 6 Tyler Shelnut might have just hit a grand slam in this image from Monday's practice.

Love it!!! I saw this progression wise in April and May. Him being ready is huge. And honestly there are so many opinions on how long this or how long that injury

I’d say iMO Jac’s not way ahead of schedule. Kinda what most of us thought and honestly, in Sully we trust because he seems to handle these things well.

    Mat,

How cool is it to see Jac on schedule and ready to contribute?? If he’s throwing live now wow!!!
I think you were another like me that projected September-October as him returning to the mound.

Jac is an amazing talent. He can pitch and hit and probably better than Brad Wilkerson for both. Maybe not Babe Ruth or Shohei Ohtani level, but not far behind.

I would love to be his agent as that would be a lot of easy money.

No way was I expecting 98 at this point. 90-92 would have been ahead of schedule but 98. How high can the kid go? Now we need to start tracking his control and placement. When that settles in lookout. I was told over the summer that the coaches were considering him as a weekend starter even with the arms we already have.

    I crave those.

Yeah, Sully was very careful as always and it’s paid dividends. I’ve seen this occur several times where kids come back throwing as hard if not harder than before.

Apparently not, but I know I will be back up there this coming Tuesday once the schedule comes out. I'm hoping if things work out for me to go up this Thursday to make it up just in time for the scrimmage and I'll see Sproat and Waldrep again. Otherwise we have to hope a few others can report in by chance. If the schedule holds I want to watch Coppola and Neeley pitch on Tuesday to see if Coppola is still as dominate as before.

He hit 99 MPH after Tommy John surgery. If he's not ahead of schedule, should we expect 105 MPH from his arm......;)-

Oh well things didn't go as I hoped and I didn't make it up there today. Hopefully some others here can give us more input before I get back there on Tuesday.

I don't expect 105 mph. The highest speed that a pitcher can throw in my opinion is on perfect mechanics. It is the summing of the speeds from the legs through the arm and the hand and the fingures are perfect you get the fastest possible speed. They are all additive.

Again it is my opinion but strength only determines how many times you can do it and not how fast it is.

I am old but I bet that I might be able to throw one pitch like I could when I was young. It would take a lot of warm up and a lot of aleve after I threw it. I think that with a little practise I could remember the exact pitching mechanics I knew as a youth.
