About time we got one. Would you say CGJ is a good comparison?

 

Yes! People were saying Ahmad Black because of his size, but I didn’t see that. CJ Gardner Johnson is a much better comparison.

 

Damn I certainly hope so. Having him at star made our whole defense better. He was always headed toward making a play. One play in particular is burned in Matt memory. I don’t even know what game it was but a throw went against one of our db’s that would have been a big play but he broke on it almost before the qb even thought of throwing it.

 

And remember how people dragged him for not being able to tackle before his last season here. Had hoped Dean would make a similar leap but I still have hope for others year to year improvement after seeing some other transformations like CGJ and others.

 

Tackling is a mindset . I quit playing when I got to hs because I was to skinny and too slow to ever amount to much. For a skinny little guy I could really hit though, it’s just wanting to hit.

 

Mostly yes but have to be in the right place and right angles as well. If the game is too fast for a player mentally they are behind the 8 ball most of the time.

 

I thought Dean would with a fresh staff and detailed coaching.
