I appreciate the civility between you and Bluke. The only thing I would add is that for some of us conservatives it is also hard to for us to know who the "Liberals" are anymore as well. Maybe its because the most extreme of our parties have such a large voice.
This thread: after guzzling Fox News talking points to the point of critical thought being expunged completely, a decent-seeming bloke tries real hard to have an "open conversation" focused primarily on convincing others that he's right (and in the right).
I see less and less extremism and more and more conformity between the parties. And I don’t consider that a good thing.
Maybe never...who cares. You just want an insincere statement. Personally I would rather here from someone that speaks their truth to your face than someone that lies to your face and says the exact opposite behind your back.
My dad said he could abort me till I turned 18. I brought you into this world and I can take you out. He was kind of an Old Testament kind of a father. lol
Election time brings out the middle from both sides because they know that is where main stream America is. Its after the election that radicals come out of the closet. I can't help but think of Chuck Shumer's words. "Let's win the Senate and then we can change the world". From that moment on they wanted to stack the Supreme Court, offer statehood to Puerto Rico & DC and do away with the filibuster. Not many candidates ran on that platform.
Stuck in the middle with you? The middle has grown to encompass those on each side who are not radical
That's funny. You prove my point within 2 sentences. You can't make an argument without an immediate insult to follow. And if anyone on this site is posting out of context talking points its all the liberal articles that have been posted. At least my opinions are my own not someone else's. You can disagree with me but you have no capacity to be civil. Thank you for agreeing with my main point.
We did have a peaceful transfer of power. Biden was inaugurated right on schedule. I think you are confusing vigorously fighting to the bitter end to a peaceful transfer of power. Two different things in my opinion.
I have no illusions I will ever convince you I am right. I was just interested in a conversation where you can express your opinion even if someone else thinks you are dead wrong.
Why? What's the purpose in having the conversation if you have no intention of being actually open to an alternative opinion or to changing your mind, and if you also (rightly) suspect that you won't change anyone else's opinion?
Volatility leading up to it but not the actual transfer of power. We can open up a conversation about a number of volatile events that have plagued our country. I have no patience for any of it from both sides.
My only guess is that, under the pretense of "an honest conversation," he actually thought on some level that he could "nice" his way through this thread and convince people to believe the same Fox News quackery that he's swallowed hook, line and sinker.
Well, I'm certain I wont find anything calling out you for lacking the capacity to compromise. I have no interest in doing that with you, and its kinda pointless since neither of us have any actual power to do anything.
