It's never worked before, but I BELIEVE!!! Again, abortion bans don't work. But I guess you enjoy virtue signaling.
You keep supporting the legal killing of the most innocent. I will not. We disagree on this issues clearly.
It is a false description. Again, saying that a doctor is invading or intruding on a body implies a lack of consent due to the definition of both words. I don't think anybody is for abortions without consent. Having a patient voluntarily swallow a pill that they know what it will do is neither invading nor intruding on a person's body. You just think it is easier to argue against invasion or intrusion, so you falsely label the act those things, even though it doesn't meet the criteria for either.
You sound like an anarchist lol… When it comes to protecting the most innocent. We clearly disagree. You are for legally being able to kill those children. I am not. The drug issue is a completely different topic.
Not really. It is about bodily autonomy. Does your body belong to you to act in ways with no impact on any other recognized person or not?
No, not all of them are. Here is the definition of "invasive:" involving entry into the living body (as by incision or by insertion of an instrument) Plenty of medical procedures do not require entry into the body, including abortions. I have never heard somebody claim that taking a pill was an "invasive" act. And, again, invasive is a different word than "invade" with an entirely different context. They have similar roots, but are not the same thing.
I'm a pragmatist. Laws have never been b effective in slowing down supply when demand is large. All creating an abortion law will do is drive those with means to travel to places where they can get a safe and legal abortion. Those without will need left to seek a black market, which won't be safe or legal. And in the end, these women suffer poor health outcomes. This is the reality with abortion laws you are ignoring. Instead of actually protecting anyone with actions that might actually solve the problem, you virtue signal by saying abortions should be outlawed, and problem solved. But all evidence shows a law accomplishes nothing in this case.
There are laws we can pass that will reduce abortions, but they all have to with providing education and access rather than punishment.
No. We actually enforce les against killing the most innocent we will protect many lives. So many have been killed over the years because of your belief it should be legal. Heartbreaking.
So no time during history has a law kept supply from meeting demand. Plenty of black markets throughout history. But this time will be different? Keep virtue signaling. Won't change anything. Neither will outlawing abortion.
I will absolutely keep fighting against legally killing the most innocent for convenience. It is heartbreaking you think it is okay to legally kill for convenience. And we definitely disagree on this issue.
You keep tilting at windmills and accomplishing nothing. I'm no fan of abortion either. I find keeping abortion illegal as a necessary evil. The alternative, which is outlawing abortion, results in no drop in abortion rate. What it does accomplish is more bad reproductive health outcomes for women. I advocate for things that actually accomplish less abortions. Effective policies like comprehensive sex education and birth control programs. Things that not only reduce abortion, they don't come with the unintended consequences of outlawing abortion. You can't accept the fact that all evidence shows outlawing abortion doesn't stop abortion. But it does hurt women and their reproductive health. So, you keep vitue signaling thinking you're actually accomplishing something good.
Are you really actually concerned, or are you virtue signaling for Jesus? I’d really like to see the evidence of this widespread concern, with “pro-life” policies during and after the child is birthed, what to speak of pro-contraception and sex education policies to prevent it outright. Neither of these are on the agenda though for “pro-life” elected representatives. Why is that?
At least you acknowledge your position is evil. Definitive not necessary. But that shows you see how wrong it is to legally kill the most innocent.
The government does not have to be the one and only answer. That said… The Women’s Pregnancy Center and Share the Love Ocala are two phenomenal organizations that we support heavily every year. I would highly consider them if you give/support like causes.
Women are not robots. We are humans and individually unique. The 14 year old raped by a relative is not going to be emotionally able to handle acknowledging they are pregnant within the 15 week timeline those of you who think that's fine. Anyone who is raped for that matter is emotionally distraught. They might waste time trying to wrap their head around what just happened, or try to ignore it altogether. The drug addict that doesn't even remember having sex. She most likely will end up giving birth to a child with learning/cognitive issues. What programs are there to help that child get the right support? Would she give that child up, or if not, it's not likely that child will get the support it needs early enough, creating another damaged adult. The mother who wants her child, but there are severe birth defects that will put the mother and the child in danger. I've posted real life examples of this. No woman decides as a "matter of convenience" to end her pregnancy in the last trimester. No doctor would do it at that late stage "just because". Convenience early could be for an unmarried or financially strapped couple, because they just can't afford it. Before you say "adoption", first it's hard to do that, it's not for everyone. Are you going to force that? There is no safety net for these children that some of you want to force into this world. we have ZERO programs for these children. As a matter of fact, some good programs like Head Start are being cut. You don't want medicare for all, you don't want to support public schools, you don't care if desantis expands school vouchers which is a total waste of money. How about that 12 million dollars to fly migrants in TEXAS to "sanctuary cities"? As usual, those who support taking away a woman's right to autonomy over her own body, don't care about the fallout, just their own feelings.
If I have insulted you, I apologize. If it means you are not as up-to-date as you could (should?) be on the subject and the social fabric and you now have a better view of the way it is rather than the way you think it should be, well then, at least you are now less naive. What I attempted to do is to point out how others who are not necessarily on "your side" can view your rhetoric, honest intent or not. And my reply to your reply to my OP highlighted what I saw were THE most egregious examples of what is plainly passive-aggressive, whether you agree with it or not. And so, my reference to the speck/plank. You are apparently oblivious. But that is okay, you are in fine company. And what I find amusing, in a sort of gallows humor way, is how you finished your take above by proclaiming, paraphrased, everything was going just fine, until mean folks decided to make their opinions known. Again, talk about a sign of obliviousness. You may think my examples are too "out-there" for the subject and that is fine. But your attempt to be simple has landed you exactly where I saw this thread heading. I at least tried to make it known that folks who use the bible to justify their actions are patently wrong, and IMO not just wrong to what is society but also to what God expects from us. As I said, if you want a "solution", you can NOT start out with "what the H__L is wrong with 'the other side?' ". So, to tie this all up (at least for me and this thread), life is complicated and likely our desire to make it less acrimonious and yet desirous of the things that got life so complicated (read technology, personal wealth, and arrogance) will end up in a pile of dung. It isn't pretty but it is real.
