You take plenty of shots of your own. And you are the one who brought you into the conversation. Don't want to talk about your impartiality (or lack thereof)? Then stop bringing it up all the time.

So, I just got home about 20 min ago from work, driving on I-4. Took over an hour to get home because of a couple of slow downs where people slowed down to look at three cars pulled over with their trunks open.
After that slow down, the comicazi drivers had to get out their frustration of doing about 20mph for the last mile or so. I want to say this to them:

The travel lane is NOT, and I repeat, NOT a passing lane. The exit lane is also NOT a passing lane. If I am in the middle lane, passing someone in the travel lane, and I'm doing 10ph over the limit , along with the guy right in front of me, go around me! Don't creep up my you know what!

    Use your damn blinker.

    Rant ...over.

Why do the Florida sheriff's that are always seen behind Desantis at his " look at me" press conferences wear COWBOY HATS? They look really stupid.

It's a good thing that the good guy with a gun was here to shoot the other good guy with a gun's daughter. And the other good guy with a gun had to respond by shooting the good guy with a gun's daughter.

Sensational story? Is it not a sensational act that affects the general public?

People care about mass shootings and public acts of rage using guns because there is a randomness and efficiency when people kill bystanders using guns.

It didn't really look right, but the auto correct supported it. :D

I've got my midterm game face on. ;)

Seriously, I think Im just tired of some of the stuff here and its pushing me to this place. The constant, increasing drumbeat of bully terminology and never ending same old same old. I just decided to push back. Some here have become very entitled with their ugly accusations and their high horse perspectives.

I've tried to be open and meet people in the middle, but am learning some are unwilling. Some will only be happy if you go all in on their side or nothing and they prod every dissenting view with accusations. (NOT you Davis).

Imagine prople speaking about a race here like they do some peoples religious faith.

Imagine if I called every disagreement racist and bigoted, byt some here are lazy and do that constantly because nuance and perspective have ceased yo exist.

So I've taken the gloves off a bit.

A “Come on man” doesn’t even begin to point out the ridiculousness of the above post.

The lord god pardoned and glorified a war criminal, and “the base” lapped it up. So I don’t think it’s as ridiculous as you think. Whether “the base” cares about lawlessness pretty much depends on who the perps are vs. who victims are. They want pardons for 1/6 criminals. They want the officer who justifiably shot Ashley Babbit lynched. Why?

These were just two god fearing men exercising their 2nd amendment rights. Right? Watch them get off with misdemeanors and retain their gun rights. Hell, there are 2nd amendment extremists that would fight for these 2 men to have gun rights even if they are convicted of felonies, the day they get out of jail they could constitutionally carry in the eyes of many. Think of how absurd that is.

One day I'd like these people who say the media sensationalizes this type of crime story (true!) put that idea together with "out of control crime in Chicago," "shoplifters in San Francisco" or "looters run wild" stories. Its probably too much to ask.

The problem is these people don’t think. They aren’t critical of media sensationalism because of their own critical thinking skills or self awareness. They are critical of “mainstream media” because the talking points tell them to be. They believe the press is the “enemy of the people”. Doesn’t matter that this alternative media is an insanity bubble filled with even more insane lies and sensationalism than any mainstream outlet. There is zero self awareness in this crowd. None.

So yes, expecting unthinking people to suddenly have a mental epiphany actually is too much to ask.

That’s quite a reach Bling. Pardons have always been highly political and often very controversial. On top of that you are using what some nut nubs want, not what has actually been done by a president.

Other than what some claim is extremely delayed adjudication I have no problem with the 1/6 prosecutions. I don’t watch news anymore, but from what I remember the government did a very poor good job in the early phases explaining what happened with the shooting. It’s no excuse, but whenever people don’t find transparency wrt to actions of governments, some are going to go down their rabbit holes.

In summary, it was a ridiculous post.

Umm.. President Trump did actually pardon a war criminal with the full encouragement of the right wing base.

Navy Seal pardoned of war crimes by Trump described by colleagues as 'freaking evil'

I don’t think Desantis would actually pardon these two random yah00’s as Governor of FL. I think that poster was being facetious (so his “rediculous post” was probably intentionally so). But then again Desantis has been responsive to the whims of the crazy base, in a way similar to Trump. So who knows. I doubt there would be reason for “the base” to rally behind these idiots and if only for that, there is no reason for Desantis to step in it. But I think my point on guns is correct. There are many on the right that would protect these two clown’s gun rights. I think their actions should already permanently strip them of gun ownership in the state of FL. Conservatives might say restrict that *only* if they are convicted of felonies. Extreme 2nd amendment view would allow them to carry again as soon as released from jail even with violent felonies.

Since I am in my sanctimonious mode (you are all sincerely welcome!), what is missing is that anyone who drives a modern motor vehicle of any kind in a manner that is dangerous should be considered as attempting murder. Call it involuntary manslaughter if you will, but anyone who does not recognize the energy - and therefore the destructive capabilities - in a vehicle, then they get to get a "time out" and more.
