I didn't see a thread on this. Could we have a mod either sticky this, or create another thread with the info & sticky it? Also, I don't think I have the early season tourney games represented here, as they are pending outcomes. If someone has more details, let me know and I'll edit. Thanks! Looking at the U of F official site, I don't see much in the way of TV broadcasts for the scrub games yet. Hope that changes.
Yes - as of now Ohio in Tampa the only one not showing SEC+ or mainstream. 2022-23 Men's Basketball Schedule - Florida Gators
So I am more than ready for some basketball after this football season ..may go to that game here in Tampa
The optimism here is, in my opinion naturally, much more founded than the lunacy surrounding football. Nevertheless, starting conference play with 3 or 4 loses would not be shocking. Two would be an exceptional start.
Facing Pearl (@Auburn) and White (home) in the first 3 games will be a trip. The Rowdies need to give Mikey a special welcome back.
Preseason expectations for football were optimistic on my part. I'd hoped the new staff would be able to quickly fix years of poor tackling and 3rd-and-Granthams, but that hasn't happened. Bad habits die hard. My preseason expectations for basketball are similarly optimistic. Not unreasonably so, however. I had annual preseason optimism for Mike White's teams, and was regularly disappointed. Despite different levels and types of talent that Mike brought in, the same tendencies tended to emerge once we got into SEC play. Turnovers. Poor shooting. Poor rebounding. I don't think I'll be disappointed this season. Coach Golden will finally give the Gators a recognizable offense designed to generate open looks, and a defense designed to maximize rebounds by positioning, rather than by wishful thinking.
KenPom moved us from #59 ending last year up to the mid thirties to start this season. Analytics already kicking in.
