Probably next to the 1984 SEC and National Championship trophies.

I don't think it was there that late, but I could be wrong. If I remember correctly, they did away with it in the early 70s. Hell, if anyone wants to see a gator on campus, all they have to do is stroll by Lake Alice, or the occasional times when one would cruise thru the drainage ditch to that dorm near the football field. I can't remember, but I think it's Riker, and girls would be laying out there on beachtowels when one would appear. We're probably the only school in the country that has an apex predator living in the wild on campus as a mascot.

Awesome. It was a scary looking thing. It was supposed to be remote control. Too bad it didn't work. Would've thought someone in the engineering school could've made it functional.

Yeah! And Gators don't belong in a pen, cage, on a leash or a on a sailboat Sonny Crocket!

No wild animal belongs in a cage! Mangy bulldogs with an ass for a face, yes!

I believe in the movie the alligator lived in a sewer in New York City - plenty of food above and radioactive waste in the sewer made him even worse!

You're almost certainly right about that. Memory is a weird thing - it seems like I saw it but I probably saw a picture of it and I definitely saw a caged tiger at Auburn so maybe I imagined a gator in the cage as someone told me we stopped doing that. Getting old is a bitch.
I wonder about your comment on mascots... golden gophers are safe but wolverines, panthers - probably a lot of folks getting bit by bulldogs.

Huddle hilight jr year Honestly I think if he was 3 or 4 inches taller he'd be a 5 star. Look at his speed, willingness to attack ball carriers , and football IQ, he looks really good. As far as short safeties, I seem to remember winning a natty with a 5'9" safety.

Most impressive highlight film I’ve ever seen. Young man does not wait for the play to develop in front of him/ the ball carrier to come to him. Instead he attacks the play/the ball carrier, understands the angles, hits aggressively and wraps up. Truly excellent.

No wolverines in Michigan anymore, and neither they nor panthers probably roam freely on any college campus like gators do at UF.

remember it well and was cool even though on a trailer. They tried to get it to walk but there were no walking robots at that time, think it was another 2 decades to invent that.

Albert had the crazy eyes back then! That Gator seems like a decent idea to try, or maybe just a huge threatening statue rivals are forced to walk by.
Exactly. Could switch him with #16 right now
