This ought to get interesting. Does Jesus need rebranding? https://www.washingtonpost.com/religion/2022/10/12/he-gets-us-christians-jesus/ Same story, but doesn't appear to be subscriber-only A $100 million ad campaign wants to fix Jesus' image. His followers remain a problem.
I like where this could be going. Perhaps the maverick side of Jesus could attract and peel off some young libbies who need more guidance in their life. I’m in favor of our youth showing more discipline and maybe Jesus can do it.
I did a search for 'Signatry', the group behind the campaign and didn't find any previous mention here.
So says the Taliban. Slippery slope dude. Parents need to instill discipline, not morality police, which is where this could be heading. Everyone needs to pay attention.
True. I was thinking about those without a sturdy family structure. Maybe a “cooler” Jesus could help.
You singled out libs for being deficient on this. Are there no conservative youth who need sturdier family structure? So all those trailers and mobile homes I pass driving through south GA and lower Alabama bearing those 8’ x 12’ Confederate flags as large as the houses themselves are occupied by healthy, structured, disciplined family units? Good to know.
Conservatives mostly already believe in Jesus at a much higher tick. Hell, the non- believers in TH come out in droves to brag of their atheism.
Religion is not necessarily the fix. The most religious states are generally the ones with the most single-parent households and the highest percentage of children in poverty
I actually agree with you. But related to your OP, I just offered a possibility where a new Jesus look could benefit some folks.
My daughter still says that her favorite movie trivia question of all time is "What movie Character has been played by both Morgan Freeman and Alanis Morisette?"
There are two Jesuses, or Jesii, or whatever the plural of Jesus is... The liberal hippy Jesus that loves everyone -- and the Conservative MAGA Jesus, who hates everyone except rich, white, straight, American, land owners ...
